Boa Noite!
I tried your links too, and like dump truck could not access some of them. I did manage to read a bio. on your band, but could not access any mp3 tracks to hear your music.
If you get an updated link or website please post it here, as it's good to see you on this site.
Do you have a CD out?
Ate Logo!

Said In Jest...I think I have a little Semi MC's stuff & do have stuff by all the other artists you mentioned.

I agree with polynesian, some NZ hip hop sounds uniquely New Zealand, you just have to really listen...but if you don't like hip hop then you won't like it NZ or otherwise...and then you probably wouldn't feel the NZ-ness in it anyway.
I like a wide range of NZ music, but especially Rock, Hip Hop & RnB.
Great topic polynesian.

Thanks for the post about this DVD Tiffany, it sounds great! I am going to get one sent to me in Aussie, I was going through some old video's I have of NZ music last week & wishing all the clips were on DVD then I saw your post. 8-)

Jet, Visted your artist site, your music sounds interesting. Can't play music on this pc but will have a listen soon.
What's the scene like in Melbourne? Yeah, I'm also not into doof doof, but like almost every other genre in varying degrees.

That gig sounds good, I am rather out of touch with the NZ industry as have been here 3yrs. I really miss NZ music, so it was cool to find this site. There are so many NZers here in Qld too. I was surprised though at how many kiwi's in oz were on this site, that's why I posted on this query. What style of music are the bands you enjoy?

capoeiragg : 26 April 2004 - 2:58am

Me too...though just alphabetical, not seperating NZ & non NZ.

Would be interested to know about Lig too. Recently I found an old copy of Fagan's Blisters album & some video clips. Really enjoy his music.

Thanks for the info re 'reply to post'.
Good idea to start a record shop...though I may have to start a radio station or music TV show too, so that Aussie's would hear the music & know to buy it.
What type of music does your band play?

capoeiragg : 24 April 2004 - 6:48am

Like the other people trying to get their shit together...I have a collection of vinyl a turntable but nothing to plug it into. 8-(
There is nothing like vinyl, though CD's are great for convenience. Some of my old fave's are only on Vinyl. No matter how much technology advances I will always maintain my Vinyl.

I agree with the last few posts, from both the tech. & enjoyment perspetives. Smaller venues make the gig much more personal & memorable. And as already mentioned many large venues have issues when it comes to decent sound & view of the artists.

capoeiragg : 24 April 2004 - 12:57am

Death Machine- Not really. Crowded House & Split Enz of course (often claimed as Aussie Bands), on Triple J (non commercial station) I have heard them play Betchadupa, Datsuns, Pacifier & Fur Patrol etc.
I'd be better if more NZ music was accesable here. I think you an buy the odd CD off the shelf but not many.

capoeiragg : 23 April 2004 - 3:00am

Hun, I am on the Gold Coast- Qld.

capoeiragg : 23 April 2004 - 1:40am

Hey, I recently joined this site & have noticed a few members, who like me are in Australia. I'd be interested to hear about who's here & what NZ music you are into.

capoeiragg : 23 April 2004 - 12:28am

Flying Nun was there for NZ Music when hardly anyone else was. For me their LP's formed the basis of my music collection & pride in NZ Music. Leading me to both support NZ Music & get involved in the industry. Thanks, Flying Nun!!!

It is true that many are not going to have a huge career overseas. But some help would be great.
Here in Aussie for example (Qld-so with currently not even as much exposure to NZ Music as MEL & SYD get) it'd be great if NZ bands could be more promoted & readily accessable to the general public!! The ones that do get heard here often become popular, so it seems a waste not to tap into that.
I was at a shopping centre in the far corner of the Gold Coast one day & they were playing Moizna through the PA. I just about cheered to at acctually hear NZ music publicly here, it'd be great to get NZ Music that exposure more often.

Excellent band, especialy live!!

capoeiragg : 22 April 2004 - 7:54am

Just a belated 'Hear Hear' to the commnents of Exponents28 & Crabbey, Jordan is a great, very genuine person & Dead Flowers are friendly guys, not deserving of the label of 'dickheads!'.

capoeiragg : 22 April 2004 - 7:30am

Interesting to read the posts.
I'd say half of my collection is NZ, though I am now in Oz.
In support of my fave. Kiwi Artists I have been making some Aussie's listen to them on high rotate..hehe
