// Oh, and how fucking naive do you have to be to believe that ANY system works properly all of the time. //

I never said that I think the system does or will work, in fact I thought I was implying that it doesn’t? anyway,

Look I just don’t understand why anyone would want to give these people a chance to do harm again?
I don’t understand why we should help and look after them when they haven’t given the same respect to us?
I don’t understand why they should be given the chance to enrich their lives with books, movies, Television and music?

Please explain to me why someone who has raped & murdered a child should have these luxuries when the child who has been taken away will never get to experience the same luxuries? And then 15 or so years later another child can be raped & murdered by the same person, and we know this persons history?

You might need to use little words as obviously I’m just not getting it?

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 8:15pm

nah just thought I'd get in first

My troll names are under control

by the way, my choice of words to insert are out of - correct / right / logical / good looking or insipring

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 7:33pm

wait for it . . . . .//and just to show how un-PC I am// . . . . No it just shows how (insert word here) you are

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 7:30pm

hey Limegreen you forgot

// fuck them they’ve lost their all of their rights//

and

// I can't be arsed listening to PC shit //

and just to show how un-PC I am - // Wrongfully Imprisoned // how fucking stupid do you have to be to get put away for something you didn't do, really? Most criminals can't even get locked up, you must have done something wrong to piss off the cops & justice system, tuff shit for being an idiot!
David Bain - Innocent - of course, but he knew what sick shit was going on in that house, did he ever call the cops on his old man? He is an accomplice no question.
Peter Ellis – Ha ha ha, now we know he was guilty, but before he RE-OFFENDED, and we all thought he was innocent, fuck him, what grown man works in a day care centre, sure in a perfect world you should be free to work in any job you wish, but this is far from a perfect world and he was just asking for trouble. Again - tuff shit for being an idiot!

// Breed Animals //

They already are, lets just keep them in their kennel

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 4:35pm

What I want to say is –

lock them up throw away the key, feed them shitty food, beat them, don’t let them watch TV, don’t let them work out all day long, getting bigger & stronger how fucking stupid is that? don’t let them get high all day long, don’t give them books to read, fuck them they’ve lost their all of their rights, eye for an eye

but I won't say that because I can't be arsed listening to PC shit about UN conventions, human rights and rehabilitation - where not talking about a broken leg here – and forgiveness

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 4:17pm

It may not stop the crime being committed in the first place, but it would stop that person re-offending,

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 4:12pm

unless the sentence was life?

let the fuckers die in prison, 2 years, 13 years, 20 years, you can eventually get out and do it all again

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 4:03pm

Bingo

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 3:52pm

// Further evidence emerges from a piece of a very worthwhile article on self defence for women , which rather contradicts the widely held theory that heavier sentences have no deterrent effect.
"He and the others in this group interviewed a bunch of rapists and date rapists in prison on what they look for and here's some interesting facts:"

"Only 2% said they carried weapons because rape carries a 3-5 year sentence but rape with a weapon is 15-20 years."

the main reason is that such incremental changes have no significant impact on the crude (but rational) decision making processes of violent offenders. It takes significant and large scale changes, such as those of the courageous sentencing decision handed down by Sydney District Court Judge Michael Finnane recently, to impact the decision making processes of the criminal subculture.

One can only assume from this that these criminals did in fact weigh up such factors as likely sentences before setting out to commit crimes such as rape. Although not all offenders are so rational, this is an indication that a substantial proportion are, and take likely sentences for a crime into account in their decision making process. //

And 30 is still young enough to have a full substantial life, weather you’re a computer nerd or not. and are you telling me that you won't listen to music made in 1991?

ps leave Def Leppard outta this

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 3:38pm

//but will they actually do any of the things they are promising - NO.

your right there, Don Brash won't do diddly fucking squat as he's all talk.

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 3:14pm

// No there isn't. //

I suppose your right, as theres no need to draft air force pilots now

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 3:12pm

maybe i shouldn't have rambled on? so read just as -

13 years isn't really that much of a deterrent though for some people though is it? If I was 17 and killed you, I’d be out by age 30 still relatively a spring chicken.

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 3:10pm

My point was more about a sentence as a deterrent or lack of

// "ex-hippie anti-vietnam war protestor Aunty helen" is also going to be bringing back the compulsory military draft sometime soon. Do you not see the complete contradiction there? //

I see the irony, as the massive military cuts drove a lot of people out of the military and slowed the new entrant intake, so now there is the need for a compulsory draft.

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 2:39pm

// whats the difference between 13 years and 'life'??? //

About 60-70 years!

// how many people are likely to think " hmmmm.....if i kill this guy i'll only get 13 years....sounds like an option" //

13 years isn't really that much of a deterrent though for some people though is it?
If I was 17 and killed you, I’d be out by age 30 still relatively a spring chicken. Now I’ll kill you mum because I’ve never had to pay my own way before, gosh it’s expensive, 43 I’m out again, fuck this I can’t live in the real world, bye bye Daddy Gruesome. 56 hello again world, hmm I’m bored, hey isn’t that Gruesome’s brother? 69 out again, ahh I’m gonna enjoy my freedom now, I’ve paid my dues, I think I’ll find a nice cheep place in the corommandel, let your sisters taxes pay for my retirement.

// the only way to stop crime is to remove the motive for causing crime - usually drugs and poverty (and a few other factors...) //

What about the Ted Bundy mutha fuckas?

The Grouch : 6 July 2004 - 2:16pm

//Lay off the 13 year old girls

The Grouch : 5 July 2004 - 1:51pm

The truth is that they pissed off too many guys called 'Bruce' and one day back in June the whole band got jumped by two 12year old Bruces and they ended up in hospital (rubicon not the 2 bruces) where their doctor was also a Bruce, they are still in hospital and are not doing so well.

The Grouch : 5 July 2004 - 1:36pm
