well, last night they had a two hour recording of Neil Finn trying to get a piece of popcorn kernel out of his teeth with a toothpick.. i liked the bit where he went "uuunh.. fuck. uh, ouch."

the closest thing would be when the b-net station run NZ music week, nuttin but kiwi stuff for a week. (there's always debates though... do Freq Nasty, Nathan Haines, and Daniel 'fat cunt' bedingfield count as NZ artists???

yeah, it's about time though. we got enough music now for sure.

i just gotta say, i opened for these guys in London and they rocked the house. all the english fellas i work with went out and bought their album. Most of the crowd was ex-pat, but there were plenty of Poms there. Vee also bought along one of The Nextmen, who well enjoyed himself.

and it all couldn't have happened to a nicer buncha guys! (and damn, did they have some groupies....)
kia kaha boys!

word.

made me think of dj shadow's "endtroducing". for some reason. o yeah, the simplicity thing... that album was made n 2 MPC 2000s, he just found some wicked melodies and ideas and produced a gem.... everyone else tried to make something that would stand up to it (most ninjatune cats, mo'wax, etc etc) and none could... and then his next album? wayyy too much in there. too many samples, too many effects.

"there were too many of us, we had access to too much money, too much equipment, and little by little we went insane."
