No way! There's some brilliant songs on that album. Alive.... Fascists......
I mean, every album they've done has been quite different... so why would you expect anything (eg. sound like their old stuff)?
It matters, because Mr. Jesus H. Crux keeps starting threads in a public forum making grandiose statements which are just PLAIN WRONG.
Sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but his attention seeking (and it works...) big dumb posts are full of narrow-minded statements which are always going to receive a barrage of abuse. And they should. He has started enough threads to know exactly how people will react to his silliness, yet he is keeping on.
Everyone has their own belief system and moral code that they live by, and by proclaiming yours is the right one in a public place is asking for it.
What happens when you get to hell and find out your religion was the wrong one? (*cue Southpark "I'm sorry, it was the mormons..." episode*)
- Portia and Madbillie have my support.
Carry on :)
New Way Home was ruling at Safari Lounge the other night. Sound problems? Didn't matter to them. ..they just came on and destroyed the place anyway. Good stuff.
Hi,
I'm in my late 20's and looking for a band.
I'd like some more info: poulsontodd@hotmail.com
Ha... interesting link.
A friend of mine recently said "Remember in the 90's when there was all this good music around.. . where is it ?"
And I said: "Dude, turn off your TV and radio and get on the internet and FIND stuff.... so much good music out there. It's just how you find it that changes"
Sounds to me like alot of people are going to gigs, standing down the back with arms folded and thinking "go on... impress me with your prowess". Which isn't what it should be all about.
Are people actually "hearing" music? ... or are they just listening to the surface sounds and analysing it?
Musicianship isn't the most important thing about making good music, and there are plenty of examples (think of them yourself). Of course, if your music isn't saying anything and you can't play your instrument either, it's just noise.
It's so easy to whinge.
I challenge the starter of this post to start another just as elaborate, saying something positive and uplifting about NZ music. Go on. It can be done.
You've just gotta use your brain.
wanting to join established band in Auckland area playing original rock style stuff. I have plenty of band experience and good gear etc.
I'm 29 and am looking to get back out gigging again. Influences are many and varied.
Ha..... a friend of mine who is a huge Bjork fan took that Medulla album back to the shop and asked for her money back.
Guitarist wanted with awesome
ability, no obvious influences, easy to get on with, loads of energy,
laid back, possibly a bit on the weird side and great stage presence.
If you can play summat else that isn't a guitar, even better. Any hurdy
gurdy players out there?"
Auckland central, aged 20's - 30's.

Ah yes... where have all the band pubs gone.... ?
I remember back when I was a covers dude (!) playing munty rock to a couple hundred people a night at Straight Shooters .... nothing like a packed pub screaming "Highway to hell.... " hahaha
Good times. Then there was the Cri... which is another story altogether. Not nice having someone stand there pointing a decibel meter at you.
I like "Leaded to ruin". I might use that. Considering I have a petrol-guzzling Triumph.
Awesome - you wouldn't be able to send me some mp3's of Fuce would you? you can use www.dropload.com to do it. I would be most grateful.
