hey you guys sounded wicked at shadz today! the band before you wasnt too good tho...
the sound out front was shit man... to get the best sound u had to be near the sound desk....
i was up the front for the first half, and i couldnt hear anything cept the drums n bass, but when i moved back it was fucking cool. especially 'mr. brownstone'
some timing problems (drums in intro, and a few of the guitar parts) otherwise not bad
yea it was ridiculously hot during the day, especially in the moshpits. still had a pretty good time tho.
i reckon they shud put up more sheltered areas to hide in
hmm yea i had this problem too. its not that theyre ignoring you, it just takes a very very very long time cos theres so many bands wanting to get in...
i wudnt be pissed... it wud be more of an extremly wierd feeling mixed with disgust at the friend... *shudder*
well unless the relationship was so bad i repressed all memories from it... i dont think so :P
hey does anyone know anything about the VR concert? location? price? date? support band?
wait did somebody say 'pirates'?? come to uni next year and join the pirate club my mates are starting! rum and treasure hunts woohoo!
who wants to have a jam sometime?
I usually play lead guitar in hippo eats dwarf, but our singer has gone overseas, leaving me somewhat bandless for the next 4-5 months...
so i was thinking, why not try to start something with the fine talent at NZmusic.com? i dont care what style of music, so long as its got guitars in it.
Ive played guitar for a metal band and the alt. rock band im in now.
Ive also played bass in a jazz band, as well as a random christian band, (tho i dont have any bass equipment of my own) and i can sing/scream if really necessary. ive got all my own gear/transport and i live in auckland.
so if your keen to get something going just reply here or email me at sacred_crayon@hotmail.com
ah engineering... i thought it would be cool. i was wrong. I ended up spending all my time in the first semester up at shadows getting drunk on thursday afternoons. Then i switched to a BSc which i found much more interesting.
Unless you really enjoy it i suggest you switch immediatley. theres no point doing something you hate in uni.
i suppose its all a matter of preference like it always seems to be... there were alot more bands i wouldve liked to see last year than this year but ill still be there! itll be my first one too. i guess it cud b worse...
hmm i thought the final announcement was supposed to have the big international bands in it...
ok he may look like a tosser and reek of gay, but i reckon its pretty cool how he does all the instruments by himself, rather than just rapping over pre-recorded samples or what not. hes also got quite a range of musical styles which is always a big up in my books...
haha oh man the michael jefferson one was so good!
