there wasn't any promotion as such, the support band only had 5 days notice and brought at least $200 worth of crowd. But the band share(s) of the door seems to depend on the guy on the door and who he's working for..

If you're an up and coming band and support a well known band, say for example Tadpole and they charge $15 on the door, do you think the support band should get a ccut, if so how much. Should there be some sort of common law to apply - like the support band gets 10% of the door or a set fee of $100?

Seriously dissapointed with Battle of the bands, not only were we in the venue 2 hours before it started but we still got charged the $7 cover charge! When we asked what the money was for the reply was "organisation" pity there wasn't any, no one knew what was going on until someone put a piece of paper up on the edge of the stage which had the order of the bands on it. Total rip off. Boycott Bodega!

Burn cd's for music unless it's from NZ, then I'll buy it. I don't feel bad about ripping bands from overseas (esp USA) off, but its just wrong to do you to fellow kiwi's.

I don't get it, last time I saw them all I heard was some idiot (in the nicest possible way) on the stage screaming into the mic that the actual music became an afterthought. Go for the show, don't stay for the music.
