Ah and a bit of useless information:

The Checks play at Westlake Girls school hall this Friday at lunchtime, presumbly 12:30ish.
Is this sort of advertising even allowed?
Too Late.

rabbitwonder : 8 July 2005 - 10:00pm

Ya, they've gone to Los Angeles for 4 days!
Coming back soon.

rabbitwonder : 19 June 2005 - 1:24am

Who wants lyrics?

Because half the time people try to sing to The Checks....it usually ends up in " bla bla bla" .

After suffering the setback of having to cancel their first ever British gigs, THE CHECKS will return to action this weekend on the NME NEW MUSIC TOUR INSPIRED BY RIZLA.

The New Zealand newcomers were forced to pull out of the first few dates because singer Ed Knowles developed a throat infection, but they will hit the stage tomorrow night (May 21) at Silhouettes in Hull.

“It was a bummer definitely. We were so excited to play but you know, what can you do?” said guitarist Sven Petterson. “That’s life – you’ve got to cut your losses but we can’t wait to get going again.”

Yeah I agree...they're all pretty clueless infact, just normal little boys with amazing interests.
You actually wouldn't believe how forgetful and stupid they are sometimes, but it's pretty funny.
I guess we're all humans right?

rabbitwonder : 12 May 2005 - 6:30pm

Grrrr...I'm such an idiot...I waited for Headliners realising it had nothing on them...and then missed both interviews on channel one and three.
Anyone care to fill me in on what it was about?
Thank You :)

They won't be playing until they come back from the UK.
They're leaving on the 14th of May...then doing a 3 week tour around the UK.
Afterwards...they'll probably do an Australia tour...then I'm sure they'll be doing gigs around New Zealand.
So gigs coming up will probably be after May.

rabbitwonder : 12 April 2005 - 1:32pm

Yes, they will be filming their video this Thursday ( tomorrow ). I think it has something to do with lightbulbs. Then they're releasing their album before they leave to the UK
Then off to the UK on May 14, doing a 3 week tour, then coming back and doing a tour of Australia and New Zealand with Evermore supporting.
Phew!

little bit of.....tambourine

rabbitwonder : 12 May 2004 - 8:37pm

Just wondering actually how many people would be interested in forming a band...like...the styles of...Belle and Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand, Teenage Fanclub, Strokes, Kings of Leon, Graham Coxon, The Cardigans, The Mint Chicks, BRMC, old music like The Beatles and Beach Boys, just a cutesy rock band...rock but not too hard? you know?
Just wondering....based in Auckland
