not necessarily the best but certainly up there is
Bauhuas doing Telegram Sam & Ziggy Stardust!!!!! wicked covers!!!! definitely prefer them to the originals!
i've seen the dandy's twice now & both times they suked!!!!
not being a fan myself - apart from the junkie song all the rest of their stuff sounded the same - ie, i coudln't tell when one song started & another finished....
suk on stage 2!!!!
personally i can't stand them. same with guns n'roses. they both suk. but when i saw guns n'roses in 2002 (?) @ Leeds they fucking went off!!!!!
there is something to say for rock legends (& they are) - they know how to put on a good show - so even if you can't stand the music you know it's gonna be a great show.
other artists i would go to see if was given a free ticket even though i can't stand the music would have to include Prince, Madonna, Jackson.... you get my point
how many lead singers does it take to change a lightbulb?
1 - they hold the lightbulb in the socket & wait for the world to revolve around them
(much better in person with hand actions etc.... ah well)
Sorry - I should have posted all this here ages ago! my bad! But I did post on Helraiser months ago asking ppl to get a cover band together if poss - unfortunately the band that did say they would do soem Phuego stuff haven't actually done anything, but you get that i guess... pity tho
The Whores will be playing though so there's @ least one band of hers!
It should be a wicked night!
just my little 2 cents here - nz pop/indie/rock is almost ALWAYS identifiable outside of NZ. it has a certain jingle (or however you want to call it) that one can immediately notice it. i was living in the uk for a couple of years & everytime i heard a kiwi band it always sounded the same. obviously this is a bit of an exageration - perhaps this is only the style that made it over there when i was there or whatever....
just an observation.....
la de da.....
go nz music month!! wooga wooga!! go hard ppl! ;)
