sweet, sounds right up my ally! am an experienced guitarist whos looking at picking up the bass. have the gear transport etc. just sum random jamming, improvising is what im afta at the mo to build up the old bass confidence :) have had a few jams with the bass down in rotorua with my mates band. so yea, see what ya think. Oh yea and am 23 and live in Onehunga.

sup, am 23 yo guitarist with bout 8 yrs experience however am looking at a bit of bass lately. have got my own bass/amp etc, transport and all those bands are right up my ally! wont be able to do ne fancy slapping yet however have had a bit of a jam with my mate down in rotorua with the bass and can just play the old bass like the guitar till i get my bass skills up :) see what ya think.

ha ha, nutha guitarist here. although i do have a bass n amp and am keen to play that. played guitar for quite a few years but am just keen to have casual jam to get back into things even playing the bass and then get into more etc

Awsome to see SOAD back again, and what with this slipknot rumor!! that would kick arse, along with the acdc rumor itl be the best BDO since... this year (only coz of metallica) or Rammstein/Limp Bizkit year!! go heavy metal, hope to see good turnout of nz metal too like good old 8 foot, subtract and also pleeeeeease Savant.
Ha, this post seems a bit ancient now but im from Auckland and yea its pretty good here but really Hamiton takes the cake for their rock scene. only been there a few times but if ur into ur rock music its worth the 1.5 hr trip down from aucks. screw newhere esle : )

I hope Savant make it bigger next year. They've released their album this year n damn its good, but u dont hear much of it on the radio.... i dont no why eh..... n more of the live stuff.... if u havnt hear much of them i recomend you do

yea the line up is pretty crap this year n the only thing i can put it down to is Metallica costing too much!! Oh well they are my fav band but would have been nice if there was sumthin else to do during the day.....hmmm might hav to try one of those crappy ride things.....
I agree the rock isn't a really good rock station, but its the best we've got at the mo, they do need to play more axe attack stuff though like pantera, 8 foot sativa etc ooh and savant.... go nz music!!!
23yr old looking to play bass for band. have played guitar for years and now picking up the bass. Have had some experience playing in a band b4 and at the moment am looking to get my skills up. Am looking for a challenge so if theres any bands out there who are willing to wait a bit for me to find my footing I'm there!! I can pick up songs pretty quick just need to hone down on a few of my techniques.
othawise im keen for a garage band for a weekly jam and a few beers, i just wana get out there n play!!!
