Yes May 14th at the KA and the rumour is that we shall be treated to their brand new video ... Dance Stamina ...
Pluto played their first gig yesterday arvo (NZ time) and kicked ass apparently.
London - they will be playing Wednesday the 24th of March - can't remember the name of the venue but check out www.pogo-music.com
Pluto fly to the USA tomorrow for gigs at the South By South West festival in Austin, as well as showcases in LA and London.
New single Dance Stamina is now being played on a number of stations and a video will be made when the band return from this tour.
They'll also be heading back to the studio to complete the second album.
Guest musicians also include Mike Hall from Pluto.
Liking this album even better than the first offering from Dimmer.
It definitely looks great. Hardcore Pluto fans - order one, if not for the extra tracks, then for the great packaging.
According to my source, the host is someone other than Jason Gunn, although he has the same hair colour. Someone beginning with ... D. The judges so far are two record industry blokes. Third judge t.b.a. That's what I've heard anyway.
Yeah. I got two of them. They're cool. They're at primary school, but they've already got great taste in music. They totally dig NZ music. And they've even been to a couple of gigs. My youngest one can say when she's all growed up that she went to her first proper gig at the age of 5. Kids rock.
How can someone have only ever heard 3 songs by Bowie? It just doesn't make sense!!!!
Didn't look too happy ... maybe the anticipation of a long long long drive back to AK today. Oh, the glamorous life of a musician.
that should be PLAYED to a small crowd. Golly, as far as typos go, that was a goodie.
Have to say I'm a fan of the old K.A. (that rhymes). It's real relaxed I reckon, plus I remember those Sunday afternoons sitting in the sun while practically unknown bands such as the Brunettes layed to a small crowd. It just makes a nice change from all those sterile trying too hard to be modern bars popping up in areas like Grey Lynn (Malt, anyone? Lordy, where have these people come from, it's like the old hood is being invaded by Parnell). Oops, but I'm off the subject.
I've also recently become a fan of the Odeon although there was a time when I swore I'd never set foot in the place (bad memories of seeing a dead friend in a coffin back when that part was still a funeral parlour). However, I did manage eventually to move past that, and I am glad. Gigs there are different somehow - maybe it's that the crowd seems more interested in actually watching the band, rather than just chugging back the beer.
Anyway. My opinion on the matter.
No, Dance Stamina is still Dance Stamina. Madeline (sp?) was in their first set I think, and it was the first time they've played it. Do like Dance Stamina too though - the eighties are alive!
Agreed. And it'd be cool if we could stick to discussing the band and their music rather than spreading rumours started by my sister's friend's brother's dog who knows a guy who knows a girl who caught a ride with a taxi driver whose mother's neighbour's sister knows ... you get the idea - writing crap about people you don't know SUX!
Pluto's new song 'Madeline', on the other hand is bloody brilliant. More please.
This may or may not help you make your decision ralphie - the word is pluto will be banging out one or two or three or four or five brand new songs.
Well. I have to say ... Mike Hall from Pluto and Dimmer. Be rude not to.
PLUTO at the ODEON this Saturday the 8th of November. Not sure what time or anything else. Only that the Odeon is cool and Saturday will be great. Yeeha.
Yeah! Go Lena!
Okay, so I've got two kids, and they DIG Santa and it's so cool to watch it. Yes, I feel STINK every time I think about them finally listening to small sceptics at school (hasn't happened yet, thank God and the oldest one is 7). But, the excitement and amazement and all that other stuff that they get to go through at Christmas time totally outweighs that.
I am however honest about ather things - maybe too honest. One day, for example, my 6yr old daughter dreamily told me she wished she could fly up and touch the stars. I informed her that stars are really just big balls of gas, so she shouldn't bother.
But then again ... for ages I couldn't bring myself to tell them that people eat animals. It's not that long ago that they found out that when someone has a chicken burger, it really is a piece of bird they're eating, not just a kind of food which shares the same name as a bird.
Oh boy, parenting is bloody complicated. But worth it.
Where did you hear that? I don't think it's right.
