He's right. It's always about money, not music.
As far as the people who are getting those posters put up are concerned, NZ music month is not about giving fresh new NZ artists a helping hand. It's about trying to sell a few more Scribe records.
Wasn't sure where to put this, so here will do...
I know it is a huge ask, but 6DWs guitarists PSA-1 is having some problems & we desperately need a replacement for a couple of really important shows next week, one being the Crusty show at Western Springs, the other an in-store at Real Groovy..
We have tried to find one for hire but so far it isn't looking good.
If there is anyone here, or if you know of anyone in Auck who can help us out ASAP then please, any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I don't know why everyone is getting so uptight about the whole thing.. "This comp sux" etc.. sure the voting may not be "fair" but ..
Is not the slight chance (albeit "unfair") better than no free chance at all ?
When you're getting the chance of something for nothing, how can you still stand & do nothing but bitch ?
Would you all prefer it if they just closed their eyes & took a stab at the list with their finger then told the rest of you to take a running jump ?
What are you guys on about ? I didn't find it hard at all ..
I wanted one a week ago, so I looked up the Korg NZ home page, I rang the number.. asked what they had in stock, they said what they had & I said yup sweet, sounds good, I'll take one.
I got a DTR 2, the old ones, more expensive than the new ones because apparently they have stopped making them in Japan & are now making them in China or some such, so the DTR 1000 is cheaper, round the $400 mark & the 2000 up around the $700 mark ...
Anyway, they have a shop somewhere in north auckland & I think they have some DTR 1000's in stock & are waiting for more 2000's to come in during December I think , if I recal correctly.
I think I snagged the last Japanese made DTR that they had though .. I didn't see the need to wait until Dec to get the 2000 with all of those extra features that I would never use ..
Anyway .. good hunting guys, I'm sure you will fond some soon.
I have a Marshall Valvestate VS100H head for sale.
Its 100W, has a clean channel & two overdrive channels.
It's in mint condition & has been sitting arround unused for quite a while as I have plenty of other gear to use.
It's never been thrashed or giged hard or anything like that.
Make me an offer.
Live music is not "getting" too loud, It has been getting sdeadily lower in volume over the last 10 years.
It is rare to go to a NZ show that has both loud & good quality sound. It's usually loud as hell & mixed like shit, or quiet & great sounding. But there are a few great sound men out there who put on fuckin' rocking shows.
So if you're going to shows alot , like a show every week that you think is too loud for you .. then get earplugs & deal with it. The odd blast every few months isn't going to hurt you..
Anyway, like I said, live shows aren't getting louder .. people are getting fucking softer.
Hey, I'm really sorry if I came across as arrogant to you or anyone else at all.
Who are you, & when did we talk ? It is very hard to have a decent conversation with anyone in that place but I'm really sorry that I came across that way.
