In the weekend Herald it mentioned that they were listening to Tool's old albums in anticipation of the forth coming new album. In passing they mentioned that old 'most Tool per capita' chestnut.
I think it might have been true at one point but I'd really like to know how they figured it out and whether it still holds true now.
Does anyone have any answers or ideas of how to find out?
I really liked the Unquestionable truth part one but I hadn't heard about any new stuff.
Sounds odd.
I realise that this is probably way too old now. Did you ever find anyone? Where are you now, what's the options?
Hey, where in the Manawatu are you guys?
I notice you ask for a professional, I'm strictly not-even-amatuer, but I was wondering what equipment you would expect a potential vocalist to have/turn up with?
That's my name.
Well, almost: Aaron Dick, shortens to A. Dick.
School was tough.
So, has there been any news? Have you found a replacement yet? Any word on the new CD?
I've got a Kangaroo Scrotum. So does my wife.
Actually, my dad made us each buy one when we visited him in Perth a couple of years ago. I still don'y know what I'm going to use it for...
I think it's really interesting that you all seem to assume he means facial hair.
Col,
None of these songs 'mean' they're gay.
But it is interesting to interpret.
You forgot Four Degrees. And I've heard someone call Schism a ''tarded bang-bang song about a gay breakup.'
And the video for Hush has thick white liquid coming out of their mouths.

By the end of this year (according to various rumour mills):
Tool
Disturbed
System Of A Down
I think it's reflective of much of mainstream NZ not speaking Maori.
As an official language of the country, theoretically it should be able to be used in whole sentances on TV without the need to repeat the meaning in English.
I'm going to try and teach my daughter some basic Maori, hopefully it'll be something they give her a grounding in at primary school.
Just thought I'd say that, although I felt like the Government didn't want to help while I was at Auckland Uni (my father, who lives in Perth, earned too much for an allowance...), they have been very helpful this year.
I now live in Woodville with my wife and our first daughter (7 months). My wife does not work full-time. My student allowance (plus the small amount I earn and a few days work from my wife) allows us to live quite comfortably.
I am lucky that I haven't had to get a loan so far thanks to family, that takes a weight of my shoulders. We don't have room for large saving so paying off a loan (or other large sudden debts... :( ) is a worrying prospect
I tried a plastic cup seance with some friends in high school once, and that was creepy. After the one try we all decided it was best not to try it again.
One guy couldn't let go of the cup, I mean thats just screwed up...
So I joined up expecting something interesting and got what appeared to be a ticker tape of news across the top. No forum, no chatroom that the hosts can read if they want, nothing.
Anyone see a point to joining this thing?
Mirrormask is not a sequel to Labyrinth. They are using the same production company and stuff.
At least that's the impression I get from Neil's weblog at www.neilgaiman.com .
The main impetus to the film (Dave McKean) did the original sandman covers for Neil.
When the second Disturbed album came out , Believe, MTV banned the playing of the video for the first single, Prayer.
The video shows members of the band walking around a downtown city and suffering. One is hit by a car swerving to avoid a kid, etc. Towards the end there is an earthquake which shatters buildings and rubble falls on another band member.
The song is about coming through suffering, perserverence and will. The singer says it was based lightly on the book of Job and is his response to 9-11.
MTV banned it because there were falling buildings...
Sometimes, I'm glad I don't care about a channel I don't get.
And I doubt C4 will go far that way. The played Fuck Her Gently by tenacious D didn't they? That was brilliant.
Basically, I look at it like this.
Draw two circles, overlapping. In one, write 'Poor, below X income' in the other write 'Maori.'
Whenever access to basic needs and providing assistance (health, education, etc) but not when redressing past wrongs (which must have an end as they are not current wrongs) check the circles.
If someone is part of the income circle, they receive aid. If they are Maori and low income, they will STILL be in the income circle and will thus receive aid. Those Maori outside the income circle are presumably doing alright. If not, what good is the income guide at all and scrap it for everyone.
As to Maori culture and language, I think it is distinctive and interesting and enjoy encouraging it in any way possible. It is the second official language after all, we should all know some of an official language.
Of course, I still don't want to vote for National or Act because they were all for jumping into Bush's War without checking the reasoning... And Labour and Greens have made it legal for my 4 month old daughter to one day come to me and say "Daddy I'm going to be a whore when I grow up" so they just lost someone who helped them stay in power... But who does that leave?
I heard an auckland band called 'kilt?' on the show last night. Does anyone know if they have a website or heard them before? The sound'd pretty good.
Y'know, although with the smae vocalist there are similarities I think the differences are bigger. Tool have more 'Angry' or 'Your Annoying' type songs and APC get more 'Melancholy' stuff. But the music is way different.
Audioslave vs RatM, now thats where you get a diet version with the new crappy vocalist. Each song slows down and loses the passion that the Rage boys can bring.
I wish I knew... That would be nice...
But a place where the main drag has 6 pubs and 6 antique store but only one dairy is beginninng to drive me mad
I've recently moved to Woodville from Auckland and I'm feeling really isolated. Does anyone know any bars in or around this area that have a similar vibe to Poppa Jacks or Submission in Auckland? Or the King's Arms?
Something rocky, fun, friendly people.... My wife and I have no friends down here!!
Did anyone else catch That 1 Guy in the Boiler Room right at the beginning? He was awesome.
