The exclusive Island Time party is back- and this time it's bigger, better, and louder. Headlined by luminaries of New Zealand's electronica scene The Nomad, International Observer, and hip hop maestro King Kapisi, Island Time 2010 has boosted capacity to 450 to see in the New Year at the Sandbar in the Hauraki Gulf's idyllic Waiheke Island.
Undergrown Productions is looking for fresh upbeat music for a Surfing DVD. The DVD will be released with Kiwisurf Magazine in December this year. With thousands of copies due to be given away free this is a great opportunity for bands to get some solid exposure in NZ. All music will be fully credited as the band specifies.

We have our first OPEN JAM NIGHT starting on Thursday the 6th August!
It's going to be an awesome evening with much talent turning up to play. For the rest of 2009 we will be holding this evening on the first Thursday of every month.
Kicks off @ 9.00pm, but get in early for drink specials and book in your blackboard jam times in advance.
I just moved to NZ and looking for gigging bands or singer songwriters that want to gig.
I've been playing professionally in Hawaii for a few years and have toured Mexico and just toured New York in June (22 gigs in 25 days).
I find the djembe works well with acoustic guitars, but can play with anything (aside from death metal)...
Basically surfy styles, marley, jack johnson, sublime, old reggae, new stuff, even hip hop...
Looking to be gigging soon. Hit me up if you wanna jam.
Check out youtube.com/nickkickstand for some examples of my style.
Aloha!
Nick
You may have heard her previous albums, or contribution to the Hairspray soundtrack, but Aimee Allen is coming back with her most original and fresh CD to date, A Little Happiness. I had the opportunity to listen to the CD before its release, only to be impressed by Allen’s serene melodies and giddy lyrics. While Allen still stays true to her Cobain inspired roots, covering Sublime’s “Santeria” and at times letting her rock infused voice ring out, she juxtaposes those rock influences with simpler and more beautiful sounds and tones.
