To each their own I guess ... I wouldn't suggest that the C4 website is the epitome of web design but I have seen a lot worse. I have no trouble reading the menu and the layout is pretty similar to most web sites with a menu at the left, a title at the top and content in the rest of the screen. Personally, I think there is too much on the home page. It is too busy for my old eyes. And black backgrounds just annoy me ... I prefer lots of white space ... much easier on my eyes.
And if you ask me, which you didn't, it looks as though the C4 web designer had a bit of a shufti at www.mtv.com before he got started.

All C4's design is terrible. From print to on screen to the set "design" its all so godamn awful. But good on em for showing good videos, a whole lot better then juice ever was.

thanks for this starting this forum, i went on there cos i thought maybe they would have an archive with interviews that you can download, as its hard to know when, what time, and what show they are gonna interview bands etc on.. i was dissappointed with their site, lay out is average but there is no content on there at all...

I just can't read the menus and stuff, the lettering is all sized crazy so the text is basically illegible. I thought it was maybe just coz I have my creen set at 1152x864, but I tried it right back to even 800x600 and it's still crap. The layout is all out of whack, the link font's are all ugly.
I love the tv channel! You would hope the website would reflect what they're doing up there on screen...
Anyway, if someone from C4 reads this, maybe mention it to whoever's in charge there eh?

It sounds as though the problem might be with your browser perhaps. I am using both IE6 and Firefox. Screen resolution is 1024x768. Both render the site perfectly. As far as the design and content go ... well that is personal preference. But I suggest you look at your browser first ... HTH

yeah, definitely a browser issue - the c4 design must be using some odd stylesheet whackiness or somesuch. Looks fine in IE, totally craps out in Opera...

You would be correct noizyboy... I'm pretty sure I'm running IE6 though... weird. Yeah just checked and I am running IE6
As far as that second screen shot you posted, if that's how the site actually looks then that's not crap at all. But as you can see from that first one, that's why I said it was crapolla.

weird. only thing I can think of that might be causing it is that you may have a user-defined stylesheet set up that's over-riding the C4 one. go to...

Was the same on my home PC running IE6, but since I've moved over to Firefox I've haven't checked the C4 site...
