Theres a lot of bands that are 'tipped' to play big day out. Slipknot have pretty much confirmed that they are playing (eew), as have Beastie Boys (yay!), who have stated that they are touring in Australias/NZs summer, and playing their biggest annual festival. The streets have also hinted towards it, as have the Hives.

Greenday said in an interview that they are touring between the big day out dates with The Used, who have also said that they will be touring 'a big festival' during the big day out dates.

Muse also hinted towards it, but they have not confirmed.

Joey Jordison also said that when he next takes Slipknot downunder that he'll be taking the murderdolls with him, so maybe the murderdolls will play either on the big day out tour again, or will tour on the slipknot tour as a support act.

For the punk fans id expect nofx to tour.
Fat Mike said that australia will be included in their next tour to support their greatest hits record "The best songs ever written (by us)". So hopefully they'll do the BDO and include the Auckland show too.

Other bands who have been tipped for the BDO include john butler trio, and The Vines.

I have no idea about NZ bands, and haven't heard any rumours, but i'd expect a lot of the regulars, as well as some punk/hardcore bands; Missing Teeth, The Bleeders, The Mint Chicks, Sommerset.

Anyway, that's just the stuff i've been hearing.

Anybody else heard some rumours for BDO '05?
