Boo ya! - degrees.K NZ tour - July
Roll up, roll up, roll up. It's time to start getting a little crazy with these A Low Hum tours we say. Ok, here's the guff: degrees.K have been living in Australia for 12 months now, have finished recording their latest and greatest works to date (the new mini-album 'Children of the Night Sky') and are about to celebrate the release with an NZ wide tour in July w/ Paselode, Alphacast and theFrankWoo.
'Children of the Night Sky' was recorded in Melbourne with OZ producer Lindsay Gravina (Jet, MagicDirt, Living End) at Birdland studios and you may have already heard/seen the first single, 'Worth It', on radio or telly.
Thanks to the wonderful, big, hairy people at A Low Hum magazine, degrees.K get to travel and tour our beautiful country side once again, and this time with the dirty rock legends Paselode (North island only) whom have recently released their wicked new album 'Taming of the Wasps’, and Dunedin’s own fuzz pop poster boys – Alphacast (South island only) and rounding off the impressive line-up will be 2 piece rock new-comers – theFrankWoo (both islands) whom will also have a new release for sale on the tour, aptly titled 'Da party house, yo!'
degrees.K are here for a good time, not a long time, so get your groove on, and keep your finger on the pulse. See you there.

“degrees K intimidates, intimates and breeds a carnal desire for more. Theirs is a strangely familiar, yet disjunct sound, which provokes as much as it evokes sounds and compositions from a strident period in the 70s, to the pulsing, textual sounds that bands the likes of Mars Volta are creating nowadays. This is one very genuine hard rock outfit that seduces and envelopes their audience, you feel the need to get closer and closer to the speakers so that you hear absolutely everything.”
James Bean, The Beat Magazine, AUS. November 2003.
“there was great complexity, necessitating further listens and indicating admirable method in madness. Of the latter, there was plenty, with antics including guitar strings scraped along the pylons holding up the roof and against the fan blowing breeze at stage right and Vincent leaping in his wet boxer shorts from a speaker during the finale. For someone unfamiliar with this band, the onslaught was refreshingly intense.”
Mark Stockdale, Inpress Magazine, AUS. April 2004.
