i never said i was dissing the singers, i might even like them. However, i see it as a waste of money to pay to see them perform if we had to put up with them for months on the tv.

Don't be angry at the individuals who entered. If you have to be angry at anyone then be angry at the people who are willing to let them have this 'cheated fame' - the New Zealand public. Any artist will take a good opportunity to further their career if it arises, and that's what these contestants did. It may not be the conventional slaving their arses off and working their way up from scratch, but the proof comes in the end of how well they really do once the camera's are off.

If a band gets offered TV exposure they are more than likely to accept, so that they can show the country their talent. These contestants have the same dream as the bands that go on tv, to share their talent, which is the underlying point of the matter. You may disagree and say they have no talent but that's purely an individual opinion, and many people dislike bands that have slaved away and finally got somewhere. If there was the same competition for bands you'd see your favourites entering - like Rockquest and Battle of the Bands which are similar concepts without as much media coverage.

Give these guys a break they're just trying to realise their dream in anyway they can, if an individual has a desperate longing to make it in the pop industry then this is a great opportunity for them to test the waters. Luci u just plainly hate pop music so of course you will never be an idol fan, but one thing you don't know and I do from jessie's experience is that they do actually work incredibly hard during the competition and put themselves up to the mercy of the nation week after week which is an incredibly draining experience. So give them a break and just accept that they are making the most of the opportunites presented to them instead of sitting at home on the dole like yourself.

i'm sure it was wonderful.
I, however, hate them all with a passion...except maybe michael...i don't have that much hatred towards him...Ben on the otherhand...eeegghh.....but if i saw Luke or Camillia, i'd chase after them with pointed sticks and prod them....
I don't think any of them are particularly fantastic singers.

jessie is a really great singer if you just her down in front of you with a guitar, but that show did her no justice.
