we managed to snizzle in for up the back door just on the last song / before the encores. pretty fucking epic, what I saw of it at least. gutted I missed misters mascis and kneale. sigh. sneaking into a sonic youth gig has to be the most rocknrollest thing I've ever done.
it was cool not to be able to hear the lyrics - they should leave em off their recordings altogether, their weakest leg - that and the "drumming" - but i did like this gig, don't misunderstand me, this band is one of the least bad bands of all those bands who are accorded far too much attention - actually if you tweaked the shocking guitar sound and entirely deleted the bass you'd be nearing the perfect sonic youth sound - and if you'd have sneaked into the gig naked with a frozen chicken attached to your ballsack/breasts, i'd call that rocknroll
heh, i was totally impressed when i looked across the floor and saw you guys up front. I guess I just would never have the balls to sneak into a gig like that...... or it could be that i'm just not from the hutt

Still recovering! I was surprised that no-one really talked about this gig before-hand, because I anticipated it to be the high point in terms of touring acts for the year, and I was not dissapointed, in fact it was better than I thought it would be, I hadn't expected quite such an energetic performance. It seems that there weren't a whole lot of people from here who went.
