I could be totally and utterly wrong here, or maybe a bit behind as far as news goes, I dunno.
I remember Jon from Pacifier saying in an interview (can't remember which exactly) that their new album was going to be done with a 'mystery' New Zealand producer. I noticed today that on their website (under the heading National Anthem and NZ Music Month) that they are "jamming and recording new stuff - with Tiki from Salmonella Dub". Is he the 'mystery' producer with whom they are doing their new album with?
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I think he's done heaps of production on Salmonella Dub releases, hasn't he? Maybe often co-producing with guests, but still...

From what i know thats how he got into sal/dub in the first place, he was doing some production stuff for them. (but what do i know?)
but yeah, Tiki & Pacifier . . . . um?
Look out for Pacifier's new reggae/dub/hard rock album, KILLDUB (or maybe The Dub Electric) with Tiki as guest guitarist laying down the good ol' accoustic maori strum. . . . you never know it could work?

kinda - he started as their tech / sound engineer - then used to jump up on the stage for "for the love of it" - and quickly cemented his place in the band

I think it could work, just because tiki normally plays dub or drum and bass doesnt mean he wont have a idea how to produce rock, nor will he try and stear it towards a dub direction.
An admitadly weird match but good on them for trying something a bit different

Yeah, doesn't seem an odd fit to me. Shihad have had samples and keys and things since day one (well, don't remember them on that first tape they did - It or something?) and Salmonella Dub sound pretty rock to me... at least in the same way Chemical Bros or Concord Dawn do.

In musician land, Tiki is pretty sought after for his production skills.

I find it slightly funny that this is more of a problem for the punters, than it is for the people actually doing the do (creative tensions etc etc).
I'd like to work with a diverse range of creative people more than anything else.

Puha (the thistle not the electric variety) is a spicey green not much used in general cooking. That was an extremely oblique way of saying I think this is hella exciting, and a chance to get some unique flavours...
