just wanted to say that the addition of the smoke cds menu at the bottom is a good idea. it's advertising but it's relevant and a good idea and hopefully helps the site to stay afloat! Nice one dust and teina.
at first I was going to get upset that the ads appearing on the left of the screen aren't exclusively nzers, but then I decided not to. and it's good to see the options at the bottom are all nz artists.
definitely less obnoxious than some other ads, like that offensively yellow i pod one of days gone by.

hey jesse. yes its a bold little move for us, and we did weigh up whether to do it this way or not. I think the decider is that smoke's selections are kick arse, in both NZ and International realms. I know it works for me as a music fan in general, and hopefully most of NZM will enjoy it too.

I've always done my New Zealand music ordering through the fine people at smoke. Their prices are reasonable, their selection is good (and getting better all the time), I've never been disappointed on how they've handled my orders, and they've always been relatively prompt on international shipping. I've given those people a lot of my money, and now my better half has started ordering the New Zealand music from them too. I'll gladly view their links wherever you put them.

NZM gives all nz musicians an even platform to stand on here, regardless of how established they may or may not be. so i think it' would be pretty exciting to see people purchasing new zealand music through an enviroment like this. man, imagine what influence NZM (the site and community) could have on the music people might buy!

We'll Ok guys. We've got the go ahead to announce this - and it's really exciting news. There will be an official Press Release before Monday, and a little NZM email-out, but of course, the deep dark depths of the NZM Forums is always the place to find out about things first...
Morse Media the lovely folk (ahem) behind NZMusic.com have combined with the super acheivers over at SmokeCDs.com
Both NZMusic.com and SmokeCDs.com will be run by Morse Media, and all the smoke music guru-types behind the scenes remain on the new team. Its going to allow for lots a great new services, lots of improvements across the board. Obviously you've noticed a few little changes to NZM lately but thats just the start of things to come. Look out for some exciting times ahead folks.
We think this is great news for not only New Zealand music fans, but fans of all music in general!
