BIG HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO CATHEDRA FOR TAKING OUT THE MANAWATU REGIONAL FINAL!!!!!! absolutely great performance!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!! and they had the biggest support there!!! well done to the other Feilding High School bands too... Cord Willis and Endure, you all rocked!!!

Yeah, I was there.
The music was great - I was soooo proud of all the youngsters on stage strutting their stuff.
Especially those who have already created a distinctive sound.
I totally agreed with the judges top 3 selection.
The frontman from "The Henderson Experience" will have a big future once he hones his craft.
Red Carpet Murder (I think that's what they were called) were the tightest band, very professional.
I'd like to hear Popsicles "P-town" song on the radio. It would appeal to Wellington listeners.
Mr "Eddie Van Halen x 2" who won the musicianship award was awesome (although a little self indulgent) but who cares - if you've got it - Flaunt it. My only gripe about the night was that the lighting wasn't bright enough on the performers during the night except for the final support act (can't remember their name). The Paraparaumu band who won were also very professional. (Is there an Iron Maiden revival thing happening?) Advice from an old guy , if you care - excessive distortion destroys definition - why spent time creating melodies and guitar solos if you are then goiung to bury them in a wall of fuzz. That's my 2 cents worth.

Sure, they had a false start but that aside, most of the bands took a while to get set up. Also the MC stuffed around a lot as well in some cases holding up bands. who were ready to start.
Also I had visions of people watching their test match recording with clenched fists in mock strangulation of the twit who told them the score every 10 minutes.

oi are anime playing again this year? this isnt "teffa teffa" by the ways its Big Digga". yip logging her off and myself on again was too much effort.. so are you in rockquest this year and go hard if you are bo.. cheer chair. west. .X.

It's awesome to see that everyone's so enthusiastic about these bands in Rockquest this year. I haven't heard much criticism like 'that bands shit' and 'they should sound like this' etc... People are backing what they like, and thats really cool. I dont really know what I'm trying to say... But hopefully u guys get the jist. I'm really excited to hear what these southern bands are doing (South of Auckland that is). It's gonna be awesome when all the heats and regionals are done. We still have to wait until the coming weekend! Our band is playing at North Shore heats this coming Sunday. We should start a general forum for rockquest.. Or is there already one? Can't wait to see what all the other bands have been up to!!! Have fun everyone.

Our band is called 'Bibi Blint'. It's not on the programme yet, because that was a name change. We're playing at 8:10. I think thats about 4th to last(ish). Are you gonna be there?

I really dont know what we sound like. I dont think we realyl sound like anything. But people will interpret our music differently. We've only had 3 practices! So we haven't been together too long, hope you dont expect too much! Just going to go out and have some fun. Main influences? This could be a laugh! :

Hendrix, The Who, The Living End, The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Sinatra, John Mayall, John Mayer, Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Checks.

No, we weren't invited to play at that Indigo gig. I heard it's been organised by some band called Phil Harmonic - who are they? did they play at the rockquest? what kinda music are they?

But we have got some show booked. We're playing with Goodnight Nurse tomorrow (thursday) at Wellington College (rocknroll) and the 25th Jully at onslow ball with Autozamm. Should be wiiiiicked.
