NZ climbing film needs kiwi music!

"Southern Faces" is an excellent, exciting, nail biting and cleverly produced climbing film, due for release at the end of this year. The makers have spent the last year filming some of the South Island's hottest (and awe-inspiring) climbing spots, including the Darrens in Fiordland, as well as crags in Wanaka, Wakatipu, Dunedin and more. Currently they are looking for New Zealand music to provide the soundtrack. The film will be distributed internationally, but has been made on almost no budget, so any music offered for the film would have to be free of charge. However, this is an excellent way to get some coverage and exposure for your sounds. The band has previewed some of its footage and has been overwhelmed by the positive reception. If you're keen, post up a reply (with a link to your sounds if poss), and i'll post up the right email addy ASAP (left it at home! - dammit!). Cheers

would you give away your video to any musician who wanted free footage for a music video?

Sorry you feel that way, but to be honest, these guys probably would give away free footage for a music video. they are three climbers/artists who have worked really hard to produce this film on next-to-no budget. Having done this on the smell of an oily rag, the nearly-finished product is top quality stuff, that is gaining a lot of interest in NZ and beyond. They made this film to show the beauty and challenge of NZ's rock climbing spots. The potential audience is huge. this isn't a massive national NZ ON AIR funded thing like the National Anthem, more of a goodwill thing. If you want your music to feature on this production for no money, then your interest will be well received, and if you can't get past the no-money aspect, then just don't put your name forward. There are already one or two big name bands who are featuring on it.... don't miss this neat opportunity!

It is one of our harder songs. We have softer as well if that is more preferable. We have a song called "Light in your eyes". That could be like when you are at the top of the mountain and it is sunny...
