I always assumed that in the face of masses of propaganda and skewed representations of events he was fighting fire with fire. Counter-propaganda, rather than balanced historical work.

Clear information is obviously the ideal response, but in a world run by PR, I honestly don't think information will cut it if you want to reach a wide (and often fairly illiterate & ignorant) audience and create real change. (Is that uncharitable?)

*shrug* I dunno what to think sometimes. Is being sympathetic to the message enough to excuse someone trying to con people? If you think the world needs to change then I guess it depends how idealistic you want to be about effecting that change, I suppose.

I think it's well past time you accepted the fact that use of this site is not on your terms, but on the terms of those who run the site. If you don't like the decisions of those people, there is actually nothing more you can do about it.

Michael Moore annoys me in much the same way that Nicky Hager does - both are masterminds of their own PR coups, but both rant and rave about how evil PR is.

there's really fuck all comparison, mike moore is a thought provoking and entertaining film maker and like it or not his films are compelling. nick hagar is a shitty writer.

I have to say I have a similar take on Michael Moore as jet (above).

I find the grain of salt a lot easier to swallow with Moore, than with most other propaganda we hear.
