who here has a foodtown, woolworths one card???
If so did you read the disclaimer at the bottom of the sign up form, it is as follows:-
We are collecting the information you have supplied on this form for the purpose of issuing you with a foodtown Foodtown Woolworths and our marketing and promotional activity related to your onecard use. The information will be held by Progressive Enterprises Customer Services Cenre and will be used by Progressive's nominated Maihouse.
It then dribbles on how you can request the information being collected.
But why all this trouble just to deliver cheaper prices? OK collect data but why is it necessary to register with your name, address, phone number and DOB. The form also says to supply all information or you dont get issued with a one card.
As consumers do we have to stand for this shite? I was told that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Does a cheaper lunch count? Why do you have to register? If you got one can you de-register yaself? Sounds dodgy to me.
(muhaha i found one on the street)

You don't.
You have the option of shopping at Foodtown or Woolworths with or without a Onecard, or to do your shopping at a completely different supermarket.
They want the demographic information about you so it tells them what sort of people shop at their supermarkets. If Mt Eden Foodtown figures out that people like me buy a certain kind of yoghurt a lot and put it on special, I'm not going to complain.
If you're a paranoid conspiracy theorist and are afraid of what would happen if big brother found out about the miserable evening you bought five packets of Tim Tams and a bottle of cheap red wine at 11.49 pm on a Saturday night, by all means don't use a Onecard. But if you want to get that extra 20 cents off the Tim Tams, then swipe away.
