Top Five Double Albums

Forums: Top 5s,

Frankly im surprized Prince's Sign O' The Times isnt up their.
BumpyO, your thoughts please.

Here we gogo:

1. The Clash - London Calling
2. Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
3. Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls - Gossip
4. The Beatles - The Beatles (White Album)
5. Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

the white album is listed as 2 diff selections- how embarassing to have spazifier at 1

1. Jeff Wayne - War of the Worlds (I have been obsessed with this for months... am trying to transcribe The Eve Of The War so that I can organise a cover version.)

2. Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre Of Orpheus

3. Lambchop - Aw C'mon, No you C'mon

4. Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works

5. Stars Of The Lid - Tired Sounds Of

actually I would have also listed the Aphex selected ambient, but I tended to think of it as a collection. However, you're right, becoz it stands as an album (or a double album). It really is brilliant.

I love the willy wonka sample in heliospan i think it is: "we are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams"... just a fantastic sample.
