The lion the witch and the wardrobe auditions

New Zealand extras casting for the Walt Disney-Walden production of the CS Lewis classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe begins in Wellington this Saturday. People of unusual size are being urged to show up.

Independent casting director Liz Mullane, who worked on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings, wants men and women under 153cm (5ft) and men and women over 192cm (6ft 4in) to attend the auditions

Forums: The Bar,

hmmm, maybe if I wear heels and spike my hair I can get in.

for once its a good thing to be under 5ft.

During my first year at Uni, my three best friends were these tiny 5 foot 1 girls, and I was a great big haluking 5 foot 11 - i felt like I should walk three feet behind them like a bodyguard

in high school 2 of my closest friends were 6 ft 3 and 6ft 5 so yeah we always looked retarded walking round together.

gurls should be petite...

ill go on stilts.

I seen a guy a couple of times who was 6ft8 should mention this to him he would be great felt incredibly short (I am 5ft9) when we were out together used to make him sit down at the pub while I stood and he was still taller damn he was beautiful

6ft8! remember them, anyone??

wankers, 6 book series- they only film number 3

//wankers, 6 book series- they only film number 3

i thought it was a seven book series, and that "the lion the witch and the wardrobe" is the second. *looks over to bookshelf*. yeah, there are seven. i agree though, they should make all of them, although i suppose the lion, the witch and the wardrobe does stand alone, and doesn't particularly require the other books to make sense.

i read what you wrote and i thought by god robs is wrong,
i had a series where 'the horse and his boy' came before 'the lion..."
did some checking:

books written in this order:
1: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
2: (Abandoned version of Magicians Nephew)
3: Prince Caspian
4: Voyage of the Dawn Treader
5: Horse and His Boy
6: Silver Chair
7: Magicians Nephew
8: Last Battle

so perhaps they will make all the films
i guess my 2 and 3 was around the wrong way, because the entire plot of horse and his boy occurs during the final (but before the end) of lion....

wish i still had those books, particularly liked the voyage of the dawn treader and magicians nephew

Perhaps if they're successful they'll make them all. They could always do the Magician's Nephew later, ala Star Wars.

I loved the Voyage of the Dawntreader the best too for ages, but when I reread them last year, I think i liked The Silver Chair best. I hated The Last Battle and often would stop reading it right before they all died. Stupid Christians.

// Perhaps if they're successful they'll make them all.

That's probably the size of it. I think it's Warners who are feeling a bit stressed out about the Harry Potter series, with their initial promise that they'd film all the books on the trot. Better off holding back and seeing how #1 goes before committing to the rest.

Has anyone seen, incidentally, the UK TV productions of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian/Voyage of the Dawn Treader and the Silver Chair?

There's also been a long debate over the preferred reading order of the books. Exemplified on this website...

//The charm of the opening of The Lion is spoiled if you already know, from Magician's Nephew, that the wardrobe is magical; that the Professor has been to Narnia, and why there is a street lamp in Narnia. Similarly, the 'shock of recognition' in Magician's Nephew is spoiled if you don't know the significance of the wardrobe.

I concur. I got read LWW first, and Nephew after, and it *was* good like that.

//that the wardrobe is magical

Don't you think the very title of the book gives that bit away? But I agree I think. I was read 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' at school, and while we had the whole boxed set, I gave up on 'The Horse...' after a chapter initially and went straight on to 'Prince Caspian' et all, coming back later to 'Nephew' and 'Horse', and that worked just fine for me.

man it sucks being in auckland and being 5'4'' and a half!
