I'm really pleased that Flying Nun are getting in behind Bailter Space again. Obviously after the success of the Gordons re-release they thought that a Bailter Space retrospective would do well.
Not too sure about the track listing, a few glaring admissions there. No 'Untied', no 'Begin', no 'Projects', no 'Retro'. They seem to be missing quite a few classic tracks, I'd like to know who compiled it and their various reasons for each song.
Well I read the blurb on Flying Nun's site and it seems that Alister had quite a hand in it. It's just that sometimes record companies release best-ofs and compilations without even consulting the band. It's cool that Alister and John are still doing all the artwork. Still not crazy about the tracklisting but it's great that it is being released.
i wonder what the market is for this?, i guess maybe the north american college market after the success of the Clean's 'Anthology', but then, bailterspace haven't really had the same level of press the clean have enjoyed over the years... i can't imagine too many kiwis buying this, unless they were planning to replace their vinyl..
News from the front page department: The Bailterspace promo now has a little radio sampler on it - you can hear 3 full songs including the 2 new releases.
sweet as. No 'Ad Man'?.......

I'll probably buy it because I don't have any Bailterspace CDs and usually listen to other peoples.

My God! Advertising worked!!!!
I'm pretty pleased with the outcome though. Not being exposed to most of this stuff the first time round, I am really enoying it.
After reading this I feel like one of the few though...anyone listening to it for the relatively first time, or even a second time?
