Robin leaving tonight was a tad of a shock. I expected him to be in the bottom 3 but I never thought he'd go. He may not be the most amazing singer but he's a fantastic dancer and so much fun to watch live, not to mention a lovely guy. Hmm owell, Im sure he'll still get offers from people for various things. I'm happy jess did as well as she did but this just wasn't her forte and she's already off down another path and you'll be hearing from her soon enough I promise :) Dom's still hot and really funny offscreen, MmMm

and didn't you look cute last week, I am so glad Jess is gone, my heart broke for her every week.... so interesting to watch someone who you know has a voice look so bad, it really is a comment on this type of entertainment.

yea i had my 2 secs of fame (just happened to be pulling the worst facials when they did the close-up ahaha *murphy's law*). I agree with you about Jess, this competition didn't showcase her talent at all and she was glad to be coming home. She enjoyed the experience and all that but her heart just wasn't in it. She's got lots planned for this year and has had lots of different offers for various things so hopefully we will see her true talent shine thrugh later this year. She sounds great on the idol group single too.

Yes, the weaker ones have been voted out. There's one or maybe even two people I would have preferred to have seen go ahead of Robin, but the top 6 are ok by me.

Michael vs Camillia - though that's just based on what has happened so far. Who knows how the next couple of months will turn out. Of course, yesterday I would I have guessed Michael vs Robin.

Before tonight it was when Filipo made it to the top 10, but after tonight I'd say it was Robin's departure tonight. I was there in the audience and everyone was expecting Eddie to leave - even Eddie. When Dominic read out Robin's name, I involuntarily gasped. It was really sad (and terrifically entertaining at the same time).

I'm finding it hard to care about any of the contestants now that Jessie is gone. If only her song choosing and singing had matched her ability, her personality and appearence cos that would have been a very good package.

I'm not a big fan of the R&B kinda voice, so all the other competitors who actually have talent just leave me feeling cold. And then there's people like Eddie who just so should never have been in the competition - I'll cut and paste myself from the lj idol community:
"Eddie is great because he inspires me every week to think of new ways to criticise his terrible performances. I was super happy that he chose that Phil Collins song, because didn't it used to be on an IHC ad? I always think of Eddie as having to go to school on the special short bus, especially since there was an article about his "caregiver". I've made these points before, I know. His outfit, with the shirt untucked but with a tie, and the terrible singing, and the terrible song choice - it made me imagine that's exactly what David Brent would do if he suddenly realised he was in love with one of his staff and he was really drunk at an office karaoke party and thought that maybe this would be his ideal time to win them over. Except The Office was never this cringeworthy. " (it's probably well worth noting right about now that I'm pretty much a Hater, not a lover)

Who do I want to win? Michael. Why? Because I think he'll have the most fun doing it, and make it the most fun for the rest of us too. I'm picking him and Camillia for the top two, with Big Dave close behind.

Also, I have a whole barrage of complaints about the production side of things - I really don't like Dominic as a host, partly because of his voodoo hands and use of the word "preformance", and partly because I think it was better with two hosts - one person drawing out silences on the results show is ridiculous. Of course, I realise that then they would have had hte problem of the hosts having no chemistry together, but still...

And then there's the stylist, who comes from the Mr T School of Fashion. And the judges, who generally don't offer helpful suggestions but aren't as entertaining as that Polish judge either. And then there's the producers being too overt in their actions - they obviously wanted Robin gone because they were making him appear to be (I don't know if he is or not, but I never liked him so I'll assume it's true) totally up his own ass in his "oh look at me, I'm such a celebrity" moments - wheras the reason people like Ben are staying is probably partly because he was shown being good to a bunch of handicapped kids.

Oh lowest denominator tv, how sweet you make my life.

plleeezzee a normal coloured voice.. eddie couldn't sing on key even if there was no one listening. as for robin....some question on his sexuality... but hey the boy can sing and dance..asometimes a lil bit too much of both...I reckon that the top 6- let alone the top 8 excluding ben, camilia,philipo, and dave, (and sometimes micheal-but he's not top 6 material) have any right of being on that show. i know buskers in Whangamata who can sing the pants off eddie, sella, micheal. tell me y oh y? did my boi lee not get in..and that boi nigel.. he would of been my pick in stead of try hard micheal and to ugly eddie. please if you wanna see talent go to queen street in Aux or Victoria street in Welli you'll see homeless people singing for living that can do better than these poor amateurs. Judges are DEAF!! Michael must have some committed supporters out there to have made it this far. But I think the shows getting a bit boring especially now Robins gone. The Top 5 needs to start raising the bar higher than their knee caps cos DAMM!
I don't doubt these people know how to sing but I wouldn't want to listen to them 24/7.
(just my opinion!!!) Big Dave, Luke & Camillia are my choice 4 the final 3.

I really think that what nz have picked so far is pretty ok. But i dont think that it should be up to the public because majority of those who watch the programe are not able to vote due to financial difficulty. the only reason why some of these may have persisted through this comp is because people with money have voted for them. to i'm speaking for the minority that can't vote or dont have cell phones or have beeter things to do with their 99 cents like by bread.

NZ Idol is just another scheme to make money of teenyboppers, the real new zealand idols are the ones who play there own isntruments, write there own songs and do it all themselves...idol status should be earned, NOT WON!
