WIN thousands of dollars worth of industry prizes in this region's ONLY dedicated music video festival -- the BelowGround Music Video Fest.

On Sunday March 28 BelowGround II will showcase 40 clips before a select audience of film and music people at the Dog Gone Bar, Fox Studios Sydney. At the end of the night, industry judges will make awards for Best Major Release Clip and Best Independent Clip. Plus there’s an Audience Choice Award.

Filmmakers will walk away with a lot more than the etched glass trophies that go with these awards. How about $4000 worth of equipment hire from Panavision Australia (Platinum Sponsor) to put your next clip on a professional footing? Or a $2000 film and processing package from Kodak and Atlab Australia (Silver Sponsors)!

Further mouth-watering prizes, including one for digital filmmakers, will be announced shortly. In the meantime, the BelowGround II panel is accepting VHS review tapes of clips.

“We getting entries from all over Australia plus there’ve been a number from New Zealand,” said BelowGround founder/organizer Anthony Maguire.

BelowGround II builds on the success of the first BelowGround Music Video Fest, held at the same Fox Studios venue at the end of December and featuring 24 clips from all over Australia plus a surprise Indonesian entry.

“The fantastic response to the first BelowGround showed that clip makers need a dedicated event like this that nurtures and rewards their efforts,” Maguire said. “We decided to keep the impetus going by holding the next one three months later.”

BelowGround II is open to productions from Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region completed within the last 18 months.
