I'm most definitely going to get myself a copy. If eight recorded sounds anything like eight live then this album should be one of the stand out albums of the year.
Just bought the album, well worth it. A lot of atmospheric stuff more like 'shift' than their other singles, but good all the same. Maybe someone a bit more practised can post a better review (i.e. longer than one sentence).
out of all their singles i would have to say that shift was my least favourite (although that maroon hyundai is the vid is pretty cool...), whale was dreamyish and nice, moments gone had jump around the house on a saturday appeal (although i am not a huge fan of the che-fu remix), and the lastest-no way to decide is a hit to a tee...
Had a listen to the album on a listening post. I agree that there is alot of atmospheric moments. Lot's of huge moments too but they seem to have it spread nicely. Great use of space I guess you would say. Strikes me as the sort of album i will be more into the more I listen to it. Six months from now it will probably be my fav. Next time I'm in a store with a bit more coin I'll grab it.
What can I say, this is a f*cking catchy album. Plenty of music to pine with over lovers lost or past unjustices. If I had to sum it up in one word I'd say...emotional.
See you at Flashbacks in the Hutt you pack of good *unts.
Got the album at the weekend. As I expected it is bloody cool. It's got all the cool singles plus a lot of real deep introspective movements. Can't help thinking that the singer sounds a bit like Jeff Buckley at times, like track 9, Forgetting. Nice one Eight
Yep, A bloody fine album, well worth buying, although I have one stink comment to mention. I bought the album at Real Groovy and I have to say I don't like their policy on refunds! I found the album $5 cheaper, and they wouldn't refund my money so I could go and purchase the cheaper copy. How Real Groovy can sell a home grown album for $35 in it's first week is beyond me,
What pisses me off is that I believe Real Groovy, hasn't looked at the long term picture of my dilemma. What they don't think about is that, whether they had refunded me or not, I will still return to their store to purchase music as they have a great selection,....cheezels.
ALL THE SAME, bitching aside, I am mighty pleased to have an album such as "Moving: in my collection, it's a precious commodity, no doubt about that!
