No idea, but you're in the student capital of NZ, and the uni year (and orientation) has just started. Just wander out to the Massey campus and pick up Chaff or the orientation mag for some ideas.
Check at The Stomach in Lombard St as well. They're a recording studio and indie/rock/punk venue.

You can find out more about it on the students' association web page, which I have handily provided a link to. I'm not sure if you're over 18 or not, but hopefully you are because most of the events are licensed.
None of the bands playing spring to mind as sounding like the ones you've listed, but check them out anyways.

OK, I was trying to be helpful and now you've just pissed me off.
1. Joe and I were sharing an in-joke that was in no way directed at you.
2. Why don't you get off your arse and go check out PN / the university for yourself, rather than demanding info from a national site, hmmm?

Nothing wrong with asking, I was trying to be helpful - just don't reprimand me like a 5-year-old when I'm unable to cater to your immediate whim.

paranoiahate... there are two shows in Palmy tonight (that I know of... I'm travelling up from Wellington to see them)
Show 1: The Stomach - Nana Squad, Cathedra, Stitchface, Minds Eye & Wall of Silents - $5 8pm
I'm heading up to see Stitchface (ska) - but some of the others might interest you as well... Nana Squad are pop punk, Cathedra are metal (apparently), Minds Eye play folk rock (again, apparently) and Wall of Silents have been described as heavy/hardcore/psychedelia rock (I have never heard the last three bands before, just going by description)
Second Show - Flesh D-Vice, Horror Story and GMC - Guvnors $7
Flesh D-Vice - These guys have been around a long time (like 20 years or something)... old school punk/rock - great songs and great times... visiting from Wellington
Horror Story - horror rock/punk... misfits influenced horror rock - complete with corpse face paint and horror lock hair dos... visiting from New Plymouth
GMC - old school hardcore/punk rock - Palmy natives who moved down to Wellington and are slowly seeping back up north... a band in search of the perfect chorus... p.s. i usually play in this band, but that doesn't bias me in any way... honest ;)
so there ya go... some rockin' music to see on Friday in Palmy... enjoy...
