They should refund her $160 (80each) although in reality if she was sold something she never got maybe shes intitled to a full refund.
Just writing it off as "thats what happens at rock concerts" is absolute bollocks..if someone pays premium prices they should expect premium product/ service/seating...or it should not be sold as such
"Just writing it off as "thats what happens at rock concerts" is absolute bollocks" totally disagree with you there. it is what happens at rock concerts.....live and learn i say.
Haha, just shows you how stand up tickets are often the best seats in the house...
A couple of years back my stepdad took a couple of clients to see Robbie Williams at the stadium, and had corporate box seats worth hundreds of dollars. He said that they were so far away from the stage that he struggled to see Robbie on the big screen, let alone on stage. Meanwhile, my stepsis was 2 rows back from the man himself with her $80 stand up tickets!
well shit, maybe i should demand my $95 back because people didn't stay in their seats in front of me!!!quite frankly if Bowie didn't like the people up the front standing he would have asked them to sit down.and where does it actually state you HAVE to remain seated during the performance???
At robbie williams there was a barricade between the Gold and Diamond sections. If you were seatd in the gold section, you could run to the front of the gold section, but not into the diamond area, if you were in the diamond area, you could go to the front of the diamond area,.
Now, that make sense. At Bowie, they fucked up. They had no barricade, so anyone, anywhere in the field could run to the front. It was always gonna happen. And their were some very pissed off people...i can tell you that much
They fucked up at pretenders as well. The town hall staff didn't put the chairs close enough to the front barricade, so people got up dancing...the front row of chairs were meant to almost be touching the stage, but they were a few metres back, so some punters stood in front of them.
These are not the problems of the promoters, it is venue staff fucking up bigtime. Apparently, the wellington Bowie concert, was the first bowie concert NOT to have a press pit for the photographers...we had to stand about 100 metres back from the stage in the middle of the crowd with tele lenses. Not that i really gave a fuck, but it shows how the stadium had no idea.
At every gig that I've had a seated ticket, we've been allowed to stand up, but required to stay at our seats. They've always had bouncers with big torches trawling the aisles to ensure everyone was at their seats.
It's the kind of situation that people say "it's a rock concert - you have to expect..." and they're right to an extent, but then occasionally you get an incident where someone dies. I'd quite like to hear some other peoples' opinions of the seating - if they think the woman is overreacting or if they were similarly concerned.
well sure you should expect people to dance and have a good time, but on the same note you should expect that those people who don't pay extra for premium seats should be kept away from those who do. Its not snobbery, its just the way things work, you should get what you pay for.
I feel for her & I feel for the crowd..I mean c'mon this woman should wake up cos by far its a bloody rock concert but then again its the organisers who are at fault who should really produce absolute security to cater for seat paying people.
Was listening to the bowie man today in the car..man..he is really rugged & old fashioned but still he still is pretty gruesome these days..he has those seductive eyes that could put you in a dream..wow he was in that movie..are there any movies with him in it that anyone knows of..anyhow..he's pretty cheesy to me..i just reckon in his catogory & in his day (fan-wise) he pretty much rocks.
i dont even know why they bothered with chairs anyways....not only were they shit chairs....but they also kept blowing over....
you gotta give the stadium a break though, it was only their second concert ever....they have established seating already there for the stadiums main purpose: sports. over all the seating for that is pretty fuckin good - including corporate boxes...
wellington was pretty lucky to even get bowie, and he put on a fantastic show. its just a pity money is all that corporates can see sometimes....
