er- sweetie- top 5=best

yep... and?

youre starting from the bottom

um, to me best = most interesting/moving/compelling/funny

in that case- im sorry to have to inform you- that youre starting from the bottom

did i not see radiohead twice in your lists lena? but yes i agree, the others are all pooze.

except for muse that is. didnt notice that one the first time. damn they were bloody amazing at the big day out. the concert will be smoooooth. good dramatic band if that cranks ur handle

by starting from the bottom, you mean that my no. 5 album is the most interesting?

no- i mean youve got your taste in your bottom

you know what you need? a good strong cup of tea.

¿are you in uk somewhere?- try a strong pot of lap sang & the 1st side of ogdens nutgone as loud as poss- somewhere round 11am

So many bloody albums! How can u choose 5... these seem to fit my mood today:

1. Tool - Aenima
2. Led Zepplin - Remasters
3. Metallica - Master of Puppets
4. DJ Shadow -Endtroducing
5. Trinity Roots - True

BRRRZZZ- incorrect

Who rang your bell, Noddy?

¿last nite?- your mama did

Wow I get a Lena slag off of my very own! I feel so honoured. Pity you had to lower yourself to 'yo mama' jokes. I'd expect some quality from such a prolific hassler. Ah well, thanks all the same! Keep it up!

No matter how many times i try it out loud, those R's don't really work. I like BZZZZZZT better. Thanks anyway.

Just so that I can receive some scathing comments (I'm feeling left out :-)

1. The Pixies - Doolittle
2. JPS Experience - The Size Of Food
3. Straitjacket Fits - Melt
4. Sonic Youth - Dirty
5. The Pixies - Come On Pilgrim

Flame away :-)

good selection, I think the Pixies entire output is top tier shit, and Frank Black in general is a genius, several of his solo albums are littleknown gems, however I'd have Surfer Rosa before Come on Pilgrim and similarly, with Sonic Youth, Dirty would be surpassed, comfortably, by Goo or Daydream Nation, but for me probably Goo.
Scott, some people say Pilgrim is an EP anyway...

Here's my top five EPs of all time at present:

1. Stull - Urge Overkill
2. Safari - The Breeders
3. Five by Five - Rolling Stones
4. Jim O'Rourke - Halfway to a Threeway
5. Beatles - original Magical Mystery Tour EP

Hmmm I'm a bit of a Pixies fanatic... own all the EPs on vinal, have a handfull of bootlegs and pretty much all the stuff published... But yes, huge influence for me, most their versatility. Come On Pilgrim deserves album status I reckon - I know it's kinda considered an EP though...

My pick of Dirty was mostly because I saw them on that tour here (they played with The Dead C - best gig I've ever been too!) - but Daydream Nation is great!

Great pick with Safari by The Breeders - certainly their best if you ask me...

mercy yes!
I was at that Sonic Youth gig with the dead C too, you're right it was great and Dirty was the sound of the moment in some ways. That old theatre was a great venue.

I been listening to that Pixies B-sides lately and think that Long Time Now is absofuckenlutely beautiful, even better than that other great Neil Young cover they do...

// I been listening to that Pixies B-sides lately and think that Long Time Now is absofuckenlutely beautiful, even better than that other great Neil Young cover they do...

Yeah some of the B-Sides are classic... 'Santo' is one of my favorite all time Pixies songs - and they've done a fair bit in the way of covers... They we're involved in a Neil Young tribute and a Lenard Cohen tribute - both of which are really good...

yep, Santo is cool, a great sound quality, as he says in the liner notes...

Actually I meant to say 'I've Been Waiting for You', not Long Time Now, that's just the refrain, not the title...

it's funny becoz I went to a party the other nite and it was just like college days, everyone was sitting round staring at eachother, very restrained vibe UNTIL someone, at our instigation, put on Surfer Rosa and Come on Pilgrim, and it was pure heaven, and people started moving...

come to think of it, I think it was you Scott who originally lent me Surfer Rosa back in the day - I'm sure that's escaped your memory ;)

//come to think of it, I think it was you Scott who originally lent me Surfer Rosa back in the day - I'm sure that's escaped your memory ;)

More than likley.... I was kinda evangelical about how great they are back then :-) Now I'm more just self assured in their greatness!

I knew which song you were talking about too - the refrain is memorable... I actually dragged out some of my Pixies EP's earlier on today and play them through.. I've got them all on my PC but record just sounds better :-)

//self assured in their greatness!

love it

hmmm, despite the fact i am scared of probably being butchered, i'm gonna stand strong.
