Oh for fuck's sake cityline, get it together!
They wont run any busses on a now open road?
There goes my A Perfect Cirlce :'(

Hang on, where are you? The Virgin NZ website only mentions one New Zealand date, the 17th?

Or as Moosus said, tomorrow as of today, Monday the 16th.

Wellington A Perfect Circle, is tonight. My mates saw them setting up, so i can confirm its on.

But i cant go. So im going to weep and wallow and punch various holes in various holes while listening to APC

Shtink. Sure you couldn't splurge on a taxi if you've already got yr ticket?? I guess that'd be heaps from the Hutt.

If it's any consolation when I was in Europe I travelled from one city to another especially to see one of my fave bands at the time... and never found the venue!!

I spent the whole night wandering around the streets by myself, asking drunken locals, all of whom agreed I was in the right place, but none of whom had heard of the club I was trying to get to. I was sooooo frustrated...

Ouch man, that isn't cool.

Not my posting at 9: 45. Thus me not being in the Queens Wharf Events Center.

na im not going saving up my cash for crusty demons!

Crusty the clown

ha its costing me $110 for crusty demons!

how can they charge $110 ??

the christians are touring around doing stunts for free

its $110 for best seats there are cheaper ones

The Christchurch show left me feeling that I'd spent that $70 well. Incredible.

i saw them last nite.... i haver bruises and sore ribs from being crushed
but i was like 3rd from the front and after we stalked around the intercontinental (where they were staying)
jordie had like 7 groupies in his van... james had 3 and maynard had a few aswell
i was james iha so close up...
i just froze up and couldnt shout anything out
IT WAS AWESOmE!!!!
it was quite cruel though.... we were right outside the door when they were doing sound checks and they wouldnt let us in, it was absolute torture. but in the end SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

* i saw james iha up close

my mean ass boyfriend is going tonight without me
:/
it sucks being poor.

I think it's only just sinking in how good it was, I've had the songs stuck in my head since I saw them

jeez, we all thought your dead....

It's a long story..

yea its only really sunken in tonight.
and i am really sad because its all over, before i was all excited and all like 'yay im going yay' but now i am sad but soooo happy and just stoked that i went.
it was beautiful

Did rapist lesbians abduct you?

I rode past quenns wharf last night on my BMX while the show was on...

sounded a bit like Tool but shittier

and all these annoying cunts were standing around with the same t-shrt on. . . i thought the sevens were last weekend. . .

*queens wharf

The Auckland show was mesmerising- doors opened two hours after the time that was on the tickets, but it was definately worth the money and the wait. Everyone in the band was on great form, although Jeordie looked distracted and agitated most of the night. Iha looked and played fantastic, his solo number was classic dead-pan Iha fun. Kinda sensed they were all pretty tired though, no one was moving round that much, although the energy was still there

Sound was a *wee* bit of a let down, no thanks to the massive reverb from playing in a big tin shed.. vocals were great, but the guitars werent chunky enough in the riffs, and the bass tone was all sub, which is a pity as they get some great tones on the album. Drum sound was mint, as was the guy playing 'em! Not surprising that Josh Freese is one of the most in-demand session drummers in L.A, he's just a machine, and his particular style was fascinating- almost always waiting, stick high in the air, til the absolute last second before playing a hit- plenty of off time fills (the fill leading into the chorus of Blue always gets me)

Depressing though that the best we can do for a band of this calibre in Auckland, venue wise, is a basketball hall (North Shore Events) -- would've been heaps better to see them in the town hall or the st. james. Would love to see a band like that, with 200 people packed into the powerstation, ah the good old days!

All in all a really good show, to be honest it didnt affect me anything like Tool did (the beautiful, wierd, almost drug-like 'high' for a good few hours after the show), but i know APC is a different beast and it was amazing to see

P.S - what the fuck was with all the couples around me making out the entire concert!? It was bogus! Since when did a rock concert turn into a form 2 social!?

i have to agree that the accoustics in the north shore events centre suck.

heaps of ppl are making out at the TOOL concert also...

there were a hell of a lot of tool t-shirts there last night (admittedly, i was one of em), although i did miss the "GIVE ME A T. GIVE ME A O, GIVE ME A O, GIVE ME AN L- WHAT DOES THAT SPELL.... TOOL!" chants that were going on in the line outside for the last lateralus tour

I saw all the people wearing A Perfect Circle shirts and all I could think was 'No! Don't be THAT guy!'

There was even a guy wearing a Metallica shirt /m/

in the wellington show there were soooooo many apc t-shirts and tool ones aswell.
but for some reason there were lots of ramones t-shirts around too
it was weird.
i also thought they would be selling merchandise but no :(

Hmm, they were - $15 APC ponchos even.. also $15 for 2 stickers the size of a cd

//$15 for 2 stickers the size of a cd

nice one ..
most bands hand those out for free, or maybe a buck or 2 if they're really nice stickers

but stickers are cool.. .so if you got the money, might as well spend it

I feel sorry for the Mint Chicks...
They were meant to be supporting in Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington and didn't play a show.

This is the first i heard about the mint chicks playing.
i thought the mars volta were supporting them but arrrr that is only in the states.
it would have been good to see the mint chicks while waiting for APC for like 3 1/2 hours.

so who played support?

no one in wellington.
not sure about the other shows in auckland and christchurch.

apparently the wind on sunday night killed any chance to drag more than a planes worth of gear around the country.
the bands equipment arrived in wellington at 7pm. how close is that. no wonder the doors opened 'late' at 9pm.
seems the whole gig was a fortuitous event in itself.
we really should count ourselves lucky to have awesome bands risking ruin to trek down here to play each centre.
good things coming in small packages aye.

//so who played support?

Nobody.
And now they can't actually say that they opened for APC...

I think the whole gear (or lack of) situation was the reason for the other late starts with no support.
Did they start on time in Christchurch?

Not to diss the Mint Chicks cause they are bloody good, but I cant think of any NZ band who would do APC justice opening for them-- god forbid we get another embarassment like Savant at Audioslave

// but I cant think of any NZ band who would do APC justice opening for them

if a NZ band was given the same amount of channels, the same light show, the same PA volume, not mixed down and the same presence on stage (given a level playing field), then I'd say there would be a bunch of NZ bands who could easily foot it with APC (savant not included).

the munt chucks or hdu are as good or better
