Im going to miss the facials man. I remember at one gig at Bodega this guy from my work asked me "who is that guy and what on earth is he doing". I think I answered "Thats Lance and he's unique!"
Oh I forgot to mention your trademark "tap the end of strings" clapping motion that you do at the end of some songs. Funniest attempt at that was when you tried to do it on the acoustic even though you knew it just wasnt going to work.
Know all im *waiting for* is *tonight*
Ka Kite Lance,
sorry I can't be there for tonight, but at least my thoughts will be. let me know where you hook up in London and I might see you before the year is out if all goes well.
I'll be up in ackers to catch my plane a couple of days ahead- Pilot have a gig on Saturday the 21st which I really want to catch- you should keep that night free if you can, I'll buy you a beer ;o)
*Big smile on face* mmmmm tequila... oh, but bad memories from last time I got slaughtered before a plane ride. Altitude + turbulence + hangover = bad times... still, I got to know the person in the aisle seat quite well. And the cabin crew near the back of the plane.
Oh man, what a wicked night last night. Apologies for the 'party boy' impersonation, but I was feeling inspired. And we're doing it all aging tonight at Katipo except with some acoustic guitars, good coffee and cheap Monteiths at Katipo. K1500 will be playing too, but the line-up will be slightly different- I'm filling in for Darryl on rhythm guitar and Darren will be playing keybords... mmmmmm it's going to be a great night. See you there!
Inspired...... your wife asked me if I could get you to put your top back ON!
Yes a great night. especially enjoyed those Iron Maiden covers at the end - must be those wanganui origins......
Katipo was awesome. I really enjoyed jamming with the K15 boys, we made some great sounds. Church of Elvisey was... well... hard to explain how it was, really- probably the heaviest music I've ever played in a band, but with beautiful acoustic guitars??? Yeah, hard to explain, but it was HEAVY and PRETTY all at once. Po-ha played a great last set too, we had people up and dancing with The Difference Here (I'd never felt as confident with the vocals before, and the band was really tight- although Debs thought K15 sounded tighter). Great times all round!
godspeed foetus... you should get a blog on this site?? so you can tell us all about the gig's you go to and stuff like that.. go to shitload's of gig's... I wish I went to more when I was there... would have liked to catch up on sat. night but have to have a serious night out on the tiles that I just can't get out of.. oh well there's a slim chance I might make galatos.... so great to have meet another great cat off of this site
//oh well there's a slim chance I might make galatos
bad bad bad.
excuse benji fb, what he really meant to say was
"i can't wait to see you at galatos. pilot and nephew are really bloody good and it's going to be huge!"
M. Foetus. Hope UK is good for you. Don't get depsondant too soon if things don't work out. there are a lot of NZers in London. Maybe we will cross paths.
