Back when C4 started, and when Big Night In was getting smacked around, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a separate forum for music television in general.
you say that now, but this lasts for 3 months. and in the end, i'm not sure i'd qualify it as nz music - yeah, sure, they get a presenter/showperson who can belt out a good tune, but won't they mostly be doing covers? won't they mostly be doing non-kiwi songs? but there will still be a lot of hormonal/hatred-fueled discussion, but i don't reckon it's going to be relevant to the forum the discussion is in now, and in the end it might actually swamp other things.
needs its own area, i think.

I voted to leave it in & yes I say this now too. But in fact..just thinking now that I've already casted my vote (too late) I reckon we should leaev it in because it does have everything to do with NZ Music in every aspect there is so yeah..it deserves to stay on our forum boards as long as we still talk about other topics/issues at hand as well. If theres room for talk about everything else under the sun (namely the bar) then why not have NZIdol topics. I mean, its only going to last so long & plus members/site owners can look back to the time when NZ Idol was in place. Its fantastic to have it on this forum.

Every Aspect? that's a big call. you know they won't be singing kiwi songs 99% of the time? that's a pretty big aspect to me. and there's a high chance they are looking for someone who's going to sing in a contemporary US-centric type style, not someone with the daggy vowels of David Kilgour, Jordan Luck or Andrew Fagan.

Yeah. A Music TV forum would help un-clutter the nzm and bar forums. And it deserves its own forum really.
