PJ Won Best Director

AND LOTR BEST PICTURE! (Drama)

AND THE OFFICE BEST COMEDY!

Three great reasons to get naked...

wow! an award show that got it right!

go PJ!

I'm not sure it was an original call, but I loved Gervais' acceptance which included "I'm from a small place called england ... we ran the world before you did".

Haha no way... did he slip into David mode? He does that heaps in interviews - seems to be trying to cultivate a 'who is who?' curiosity.

No, I don't really think he was doing David. He appeared not to be organised/expecting to get the prize, but managed to cut a nice line between complete pre-prepared gags (Bill Murray) and complete unprepared garbage (Charlize Theron). Not that I was watching the globes in detail in preference to doing very urgent work....

Fuck yeah!

Uh oh...someone keep Jimi and SIJ apart!

wicked!!

finally.

That rocks. On to the Oscar's now.

and "Bill Murray won best actor in a comedy or musical for his work as the culturally confused actor in Lost in Translation."

saw that in the weekend. good flick. far out i love Bill Murray.

he's doing movies?? uhh Ghostbusters & GroundHog Day

I think he was more than culturally confused but yeah good flick. Need to see it again at some stage.

Yep. Saw it yesterday. Need to see it again.

he does not look like hes aged much, always looks the same... tom hanks on the other hand.

Bill Murray always looked like shit.

much respec' to Peter Jackson.

"You Da Man John Brandon!!"

No doubt.

Hooray!
Pete is teh man.

double thumbs to the big fulla

it's wicked.
i love that all new zealanders seem to be on first name basis with Pete now.

his comment about not getting out the new zealand phone book for thank yous was lost on a lot of the people i think. probably only something new zealanders understand and the cast and crew (the whole country coming and backing the film and stuff).

as for the other awards I didn't see them.

there's quite a good interview with Elijah Wood on The Daily Show, where much the same idea of NZ being a wee community where everyone knows each other is made. Jon Stewart asks Elijah how many people there are in NZ...
"I think it's 3 million, in all."
"What are their names?" asks Jon.
