Ok - I'm new to the board so ...hi all.
I'm a singer/songwriter from the UK who's coming to NZ in September - not decided exactly where yet, but there's a good chance it'll be Wellington.
I've been slogging away over here for a few years now & my band - The Evernauts - have just managed to sort out a publishing deal with a London-based publisher for our new album. And this despite not having the right kind of haircuts/ currently fashionable sound/well-connected friends in the biz or anything.
We play what would be best described as Wilco meets Neil Finn kinda Guided By Voices sort of stuff & have long been big fans of NZ music ( we supported the Mutton Birds on their last UK tour:))
So, despite things looking slightly rosier for us here in Blighty - I've decided that now's the time to bugger off to NZ & spoil it all.
Well - you got to try these things...
I guess what I'm posting here for is to see if any like-minded musicians would be into giving me a helping hand - I'm planning on gigging as much as possible ( I know this is gonna involve the usual banging out covers in bars, but that's ok for now) so any useful contacts would be great.
Like I said, I'm more than likely going to be in Wellington, so if any Wellington musicians are out there - do get in touch!
