ah, well I arrived about 4 songs into it and hung around for the whole lot. I like Aphex Twin's albums, but I can't see myself attempting to dance to it. I really liked that they did a pretty conventional drumnbass set. And "cheesy house booty fuck" it wasn't, and it got more intense throughout the set. I wrote a bit about it in the other BDO thoughts thread if you're interested.
The Strokes! They is my heroes. And as drunk as Julian was onstage, apparently he proceeded to get even more so afterwards, and grabbed Camilla Martin's arse. Dion D4(her boyfriend) was none too impressed and apparently gave Julian a right proper talking to. Oh to have been a fly on that wall...

But I stuck around for Metallica (I wasn't even planning on seeing them) and was totally sucked into their big rockstravaganza. I'd never even considered myself a Metallica fan before, but I really enjoyed their show. Especially the pyrotechnics. It was just so rock.
Did anyone not think that Kings Of Leon were good? probably not cos most people are sheep! I remember 2 years ago when i thought the strokes were the greatest band ever and everyone thought they were shite cos they weren't considered 'cool' back then! and now look at them!
Kings of Leon probably aren't that well known now..but i bet they will be in a few years.
The Strokes were amazing as usual....Flaming Lips was funny...but the animals thing was only entertaining for about the first two songs...I sorta drifted away after that! but i'm glad they put some effort into the show!
Kings of Leon were excellent - doesn't a seriously solid drummer make a huge difference to enjoyment of live music!

Flaming Lips - impressive how these guys managed to create such a cool feel good vibe in an outdoor arena setting, seriously beautiful melodies and not taking yourself too seriously is obviously a winning formula
The Kings were surprisingly good (didi anyone notice that was Nick Valensi from the strokes playng lead with them?) but they are no where nearly as good as the strokes and when the strokes firat arrived everyone fuckoing loved them as far as I could tell..sure they got some shit for so dam handsome and rich...but they instantly huge coz they ahve great songs
