Hey Guys and Girls,
I am looking for bands that are interested in being profiled on the new Coke NZ music website to be launched soon. We have developed a site that is specifically targeted at New Zealand music and are looking for bands to send us as much information as they can. This can include photos, bios, MP3’s or anything else relating to your band.
The website is revolutionary in both its content and development and with Coke’s help we are going to be pushing New Zealand music forward.
Thanks,
Martin

Hmm... we are a suspicious lot, aren't we.
The thing is that Coke doesn't do anything that isn't there to increase their profit or their market share. So by being hip and down with the kids and promoting the super cool local music scene, they're associating themselves with our art, to make it OK for the super cool music kids to be into Coke (as an organisation - I think most of us love the product,) and hence associating our art with the aggressively capitalist global organisation scene... and we don't like that scene, do we, oh our artists?

Well, except for the fact that they're posting on nzmusic.com to help them set up a site that'll be in direct competition with nzmusic.com.

I've noticed recently that Coke are getting quite involved in NZ music- a few weeks ago there was a doco they sponsored on the band Eight during their recording at Malcolm Welsford's new studio, which was quite interesting.

I don't want to start spreading no rumours (you know I'm not one for that) but we have had some serious interest from some great axe-handlers. Though for many, pip is irreplaceable.
however, rumours i do want to spread and may interest you niceguy. Our favourite gig promoter Mystery Girl has out done herself again and is Bringing WIRE!! to NZ in March. holy shit.
