As a warm up for all the excellent gigs on 15th Jan you could pop along to Real Groovy about 6 - 6:30 PM and have a wee boogie with Devil Gate Drive .... they are doing an "in-store" there that night.
i always get a giggle out of buying tickets to go to the kings arms. it's kinda like phoning the guy down at the mobil and reserving a 11:30 appointment on pump 6.
tried ticketek - no luck. the dork on C4 said that tix were available from the kings arms itself, but he's a dork and sounded like he was making it up on the spot. :)
well, tamadrummer, we could throw out the moral compass, get a nice hotel room and a crate of fine bubbles and some fine-ass blow and just see what happens for those 3 days. what goes on within those sordid rooms stays within those walls, just as long as you foot the bill. the time will pass pretty quickly.

they are one of the most dynamic and insane bands on record today... I can't wait to hear them play live and compare versions of their songs... I want to see whether they can play all those crazy time changes and rhythm variations. Sure they may be prog but so are Radiohead and they were the biggest band in the world a couple years ago...
BTW, the Datsuns and the D4 are both shite. So are The Strokes. People have been making inane, chugging, riff-based lo-fi rubbish that a monkey could play for years, I can't believe it's popular now, it's either they hype or perhaps it must be because they use spectacularly profound lyricism like "MOTHERF****R FROM HELL!!!!!".
