Live near the BDO?

Hiya,
Does anyone live really near the BDO venue?
I have my resons for asking an obscure question - trust me!
:-D

Forums: NZ Music,

No.

:-P

It's not about parking or anything boring like that!

My cool bro does, very very near..2 streets away to be exact. Why does one ask?

Wow...Western Springs.....Your bro must be cool....

what?? bdo isn't at western springs.

western springs is a 20 min drive away from ERICSSON STADIUM

although, come BDO night it'll be more like a 3 hour drive

This forum doesnt do private messaging does it?

you would be correct.

nahhh grimmy s just messing with you
you just have to put in a command
* your PM here *
and you're sweet

Mummy won't let me out unless I can stay with a "friend".

ohh I do wish that were true!!! Oh to be young again, the good old days of being 15 at the BDO!!
Actually, I'm organising an event, but I could use some driveway/front lawn assistance to do it, altho...I could use a truck.
I just thought I would ask!

Hit me on lcajmo@hotmail.com if you like..bit curious..
And also..my brother doesn't even live in Western Springs dude whoever that was.
You represent but I dont. Western Springs cool but not cool enough to cater for BDO.
If you are serious bout what you want hit me for real & let us know whats up..The brother lives on Rockfield..ever so close..maybe not close enough though..who knows?

rockfield's great, i've lived in 2 seperate houses there, wicked for bdo.

"Hi ,I was just wondering if anyone knows anyone who would let me stay at their house the night of the bdo. That would be really good cause I'm planning on organizing event at their house or on their lawn or front driveway."

HA! yeh! good one!

Ohhh what a cynic!!
I'm not talking a huge event am I - if I can run it out of the back of a truck!!!
Besides which - what happened to the old Kiwi spirit of "she'll be right mate"
ALSO FYI: What I am organising is the same thing that people pay to go to, I am just trying to avoid legal issues with cops - they can't touch me if I am on someone's property, but if I'm on the street - well, thats their domain!
And if its really all too hard, there may well be money involved for those who do actually help me out.
So chill man, you don't know what I am planning, so ya can't really comment. It's not some bullshit corporate promo!

Simmer Sausage, it's just quite an odd request...

"Hi i would like to organise an event on someones place who lives near the BDO - know wanyone?? - all it involves is a truck parked on their property - so I can avoid cop issues..."

Ha!

// It's not some bullshit corporate promo!

no, it's real punk, right? lemme guess ... the rabble sausie sizzle

Oh and we'd be there for like two hours max - not staying the night - what the hell do you think I am up to? Must be some pretty wacky imagination you have!

//Must be some pretty wacky imagination you have!
other way around mate.

just out of interest - what is in it for the property owner/occupier?

don't be silly ralphie, she already said - money! none of that bullshit corporate shit!

Grimmy you are a cynic too!
Sausage sizzle - hmmm don't think so....
WTF is your problem anyway? I didn't ask you for your opinion on whether what you think my plan supposedly is is viable or not.
And it was the negative attitude of the responses that made me think that $$ might have to be involved and fuck knows I'm poor so I'm not talking a lot, its just to cover any basic interferences.
Ahh fuck the lot of ya! You guys are no fun!!!

hee hee
oh c'mon chickfafree we are just kiddin with you, I personally think it is a great idea (pending what saussie's you use of course)...really...pity my lawn isn't big enough for a truck...or near ericsson stadium for that matter...

yeah, come on don't be such a sad sack, we didn't mean to hurt your feelings, we's just fooling, i'm actually interested in hearing what your big plan is, i think a mini-gig-sausage-sizzle-party is a fucking great idea

holy fuck are you getting a bouncy castle!? :D

I remember after the Pearl Jam concert in ummm 1995, there were some kids on the street selling cans of icey cold coke. They must have made a mint, it was an absolutely genius idea.

or planing on playing a gig for a whole lot of exposure?

Be gentle with me. I'm back at my insanely stressful job and I can't cope. Nzmusic is my sneaky amusement, where I can sit at my desk and pretend to work. yeah you guys are right, I am totally naieve and always just assume people will be up for a laugh. I'm such a hippy at heart.
Well, I was kinda thinking of organising entertainment cos you go in early and then there ain't much to do when you get there. I know a few people in bands and thought I could get like a mini gig thing going for the two hour time before the lead up to the BDO, when people are just bumming round.
I admit this was a spur of the moment thought, that hell - why not get some bands together to amuse the crowd and figured I don't actually live there so not much i can do. Course if I hire a big fuck off truck the bands can take turns playin from there. I just thought it would be good for a laugh!
But seeing as BDO is next friday, maybe I should focus on organising something properly later on, instead of gettin these kooky ass ideas outta nowhere. Better stick to my day job...
Can I just say - forget the bands - I'm up for a bouncy castle! Now thats an idea!!

its a good idea, why not try and get some permission from the council to hold something at one the little parks scattered around, hire a bouncy castle, and you've got music to play on the bouncy castle by

Yeah worth looking into...
The council were cool when I rang them. They were like "well, hey - noise control take at least 45 mins to get to ya, so you'll still get a 45 min set through at least!" Heh heh.
I think there is a little park near Church st, I'll check it out.

and really, who's gonna complain, it's in the middle of the day and everyone will be going to the BDO anyway :)

I live on rockfield, and I know ppl who could do me a bouncy castle cheap. *Idea forming*

Reeeeally! Sounds cool!

Onehunga Mall, it's a couplr o' k's but not bad 4 bdo

have the bands set up ON the bouncy castle. it'll be a great way to get a crowd of people/paramedics to your event. What a mosh! Plus, if noise controll do take issues with you and come to try and confiscate the gear you can just yell "have to catch us first!" and bounce the amps around until they give up and go away/get squished.
