I'm partial to Robert Harris Euro Gold. At the moment, it's on special at Foodtown, so I've bought quite a bit to last me until the next special. A full-bodied taste with a sweet aroma. Or something.
Moccona is nice too, but rather pricey. Nescafe Classic is OK when there's nothing else. Nescafe Gold and Kenjaro (despite the wonderful TV commercial for the latter) are sewage.

Coffee is only great from cafes. My local serves the best coffee i've ever experienced and its cheap too. If anyone hangs around Mission Bay in Akl, go to Nero (close to mish.) It's seriously the best and they're really friendly too! :)

someone gave us some pretty amazing Hawaiian coffee recently - basically it's chocolate and coconut flavoured coffee. it's pretty damned nice - Royal Kona Coffee - Chocolate Haupia. but it is pretty 'american' in that it's really sweet, heavy on the chocolate instead of the coffee content.
otherwise the stuff Trade-Aid stocks is pretty damned good. nice and bitter and aromatic. can't go back to flat-arsed 2d old-stock supermarket coffee after that.

I really like Rarotongan coffee (Atiu I think). Its not bitter so I can add less sugar. I recently tried Dandelion tea which is a coffee substitute. I tried it black but you can add milk and sugar if you wish. Again, no bitterness - and it smells and tastes like real coffee!! And its better for you!!
