Im heading down your way in early jan for about 3-4 days Sam.
My 6yr old is keen on checking out the TePapa dinosaur exhibit.
I heard there was a classic tui's sign down there...about "Lets Go to Hamilton for New Years" but i think we'll be kicking around here & Raglan for most of the break.
God i hope not... last summer my parents dragged us down to napier, i think it was... that was such a waste of time... we ended up coming back early- not just cos we'd run out of things to do and see, but cos the weather was so bad... not that i have anything against napier (other than the fact you have to travel to get to a good beach), you have some good shops down there... was the one thing that made it worth while...
last time i went to napier was a year and a half back with mates, we only spent a night out of 3 days we were expected to stay there, We Found Napier to be much like Upper Hutt - Lack of realistic things to do other than sit on the beach (or in Upper Hutts case The Riverside) and get wasted on cheap Beer, within 27 hours of us arriving in Napier we where back in the Hutt Valley with more things to do than in Napier.
we had somewhat more to do than that as my olds had to visit every half decent winery around before we could leave... even on the way back to akld we stopped at least 3 times.. and thats before even leaving the region...
nelson w/ friends, gisborne w/ parentals and little bro for a week, and then cruisin on up to auckland with my big sis for a week......squeeze in the BDO.........i'm looking forward to it.......just gotta work every day for the next week and a half to get there [i was a stupid git and said yes to working on xmas day as well today!]
