Does anyone actually read these?

I'd be more inclined to read them if people said a little bit about what they liked about the acts they're rating.

Elliot Smith - I'd never heard of the guy until I read about his death on this website, and I thought I’d listen to a few of his songs, anyway I can't get enough of him, I’ve bought XO and either/or and I’m kicking myself that I only found out about him now he’s passed away.
Joe Strummer + the Mescaleros - Been listening to a lot of radio lately (summer job working at the freezing works and listening to music is the only thing to stop the boredom of work). I've heard his new songs quite a bit and have really been enjoying him as well. (What with all the good ones dieing)
Nick Drake - After reading up on Elliot Smith, I looked at his influences and I found this guy was very influential, and decided to listen to what he’s like and really enjoying his songs. I'm really enjoying that "Singer/songwriter" sound at the moment.
Radiohead - just purchased their new album and I’m enjoying it a lot more that the last two albums they bought out. I think they are back on the right track again; I’m really diggin 2+2=5.
The Darkness - Who isn't? I am joining the band-wagon on this one.
Ben Folds Five - Dusted off there first album the other day and like every time I listen to them, I can't believe how good they sound.
degrees.K - Great band, great CD. CD very rarely leaves my CD player.

//Nick Drake

You've only just found out about him now, for shame!

nick drake is quite wonderful.
i've recently finished reading his biography... it puts a very different light on his songs.

//The Darkness - Who isn't?

me. heard a few songs and was appalled at arse-kooky-trendy-retro guitaring and wholesale Manic Street Preachers rip-offing. though it's quite possible i will eat my words at some point depending on whether they are a young band and will get better and whether i just heard their five worst songs.

Small Brown Bike .. yeah.. still

As for me:

The Clash (oldies!)
The Wrens
The Strokes
The Flaming Lips
Ryan Adams
The Smiths (as always)
Bob Dylan (ditto)
The Who (yeah)

I'm also enjoying the soundtrack to the hit French film Amelie. Nice stuff - it actually works on its own as a piece of music - which is something I can't say for a lot of the Hollywood soundtracks coming out these days.

not all bands -

Peaches
Sleater Kinney
Jack Off Jill
The Magnetic Fields
Robbie Williams
The Amazombies
The Distillers
Le Tigre
Bikini Kill
Rancid
Duran Duran

//Sleater Kinney
Almost went and saw them last Friday but we wound up seeing Whiskey Puppy instead (I lost the vote 2 to 1, as neither of my friends have heard much SK and Whiskey Pup were only $3 as opposed to $12, Damn!)

dude you should have just went, they are so worth going to see them by yourself.

Nah I don't like them enough to ditch out on my mates to go see them, besides they're a local band so Im sure I'll have another chance to check them out live.

I've always been a fan of Oasis, but since Be Here Now (which brought them to Chile) my Oasismania decline a lot.
Two weeks ago, I bought the DVD Familiar To Millions... DUDE, These guys ROCK!!!
The live show is so fucking cool... FUCKING IN THE BUSHES is the intro, man, I gotta tell you:
NEVER HEARD A BETTER INTRO FOR A CONCERT!!!

My list:
Beatles (Everyday and never get bored of it)
Vines
Oasis
The Music (awesome, great music, great riffs)
The Coral
Death In Vegas
Muse
Outkast (never been a fan of hip-hop, but this band is different)
Rufus Wainwright
Stone Roses
Turbonegro (it's great the contrast between image and music)
Velvet Underground

It's not that Be Here Now it's a bad album, but, i started to put my eye on different things

M.O.D
Dark Angel
Children of Bodom
Naplam Death
Amon Amarth
Anaal Nathrakh
Iced Earth

Digging Outkast!

the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. didn't like them at first much - a little too "i'm hurt look at me" + obvious Sonic Youth elements, but really really really into them now. awesome awesome guitar, very stripped down sound but still very lush. yum. rock with power and direction. yum.
