Just thinking about the upgrade, I reckon some kind of feature where you could see the last maybe 10 comments in a topic would be helpful. Maybe something a bit like the history of recent comments you see when you click on "Forums" or go into the bar?
Maybe it's more helpful to just say what I think could be improved, and if you want to implement something you can:
If you've got a long topic and someone replies to something near the start of it the chances of that comment being read by anyone are pretty slim.

im sure this must have been suggested, but the posts per minute change so much i never know how many latest posts things to view (ie 10 50 100...). could you do something like last 10 minutes, hour, day or something?
