(It's not one of the options, just type
"Gestalt Switch - This Home"
in the "other" box. Spelling isn't important)

i saw this band on thursday night, i found them very boring and severely lacking anything new and different. the best way i can think of describing them is 'Corn Rock' i think they might do quite well in a north shore rockquest heat.

i'd really like to see alphacast again, the sound guy had no fucking idea and wrecked half the set. and when i just started to enjoy it, it was after midnight and i wetnt home.

Seriously?....
Yeah I heard the sound guy had some problems - I've seen these bands play together (Dunedin plays together = stays together) like 20 times (literally) and they both rule. Matt, who does the sound for both bands now it would seem, has always been excellent - the gear he was using at Dogs Bollix was not stuff he was familiar with, so I guess it was something wrong at their end, not his. It's a shame about the Alpha Cast set getting fucked up though.

The Gestalt Switch show at the Kings Arms the night before was one of my all-time best NZ band performances - They fucking ruled. Maybe they're just tired out after so much travelling in a tiny little van with small numbers of people at their shows.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I find it hard to think that we are talking about the same band here - corn rock? By that I presume you mean bands like Creed, Nickleback and the gang, and Gestalt Switch could not be further from that if they tried. Still, whatever. I see you went to the Robbie Williams concert.....I guess what you like and what I like differ somewhat.

To everyone else, I ask that you listen to their MP3s and see for yourself.

Alright, I took the Robbie Williams thing out of context - I'm just so hurt that you don't love Gestalt Switch as much as I do, or indeed at all.

Yeah i went to the Robbie Williams concert, i had golden circle tickets to see nesian mystic.

yeah sorry man i just didn't like them at all. i thought the singer was very forced, do you think he might have a slight fixation on kurt cobain? oh and the drummer was very dull.

corn rock is the new wave man

Hey, each to his own I guess. I wouldn't agree with that at all, especially about the drummer, but hey, I wasn't there, maybe they had an off night. I hope their album changes your mind. It will be awesome.

yeah thats whats great about it all, everyone likes different things.

I heard one of their mp3 a long time ago. It was an instrumental and really really interesting ("new and different" as the topic suggests) but then I saw them live and a lot of things were really really forced (Ashley is a nice person, but his voice was a cliché from grunge rock) and the rest of the band never look at all like they want to be there. And everytime I saw them they kept playing that damned Oasis cover, and there was never ever any irony.

I think Ashley is talented and driven, but I don't think this is the band or time for him. IMHO.

the bass player looked dead.

Lexi, next time they play a show in Dunedin, your name is on the door. Email me at thedeputy_@hotmail.com and tell me what I should put (just your first name is fine) and tell me what I should put (you could make something fun up, like a celebrity at a hotel). I promise, they've come a long way and they usually kick the musical shit out of everyone else (except Alpha Cast who also kick much arse).

Thanks for that Mr Deputy, I might just take you up on that. Last time I saw them it was at the Crown a few months ago. I hope the tour is going well for them and t' other chaps.

Oops. Must remember to log Karen out before logging me in. [Sorry iluvtheclean!]

They sound ordinary.

More like awesome-nary. Sorry, I had to write that.

Deputy, i dont mean no disrespect...

but it looks like your pushing shit uphill in this forum. dont take it so hard.
