Music Madness on the Shore

Ok. Well, this is a very detailed notice about the upcoming free outdoor event happening next Saturday 13 December at Marlborough Park.

Not only is it a concert featuring seven great acts, but the event is put on to celebrate the $25,000 skate park rebuilt after the first skate board bowl in New Zealand at Marlborough Park was demolished last year. It's a pretty fucking cool skate park if you ask me. Between 2pm and 3pm, Globe riders will be doing demos on the new skate park while DJ Logikal does a set on the back of the RedBull hummer. There'll be heaps of free shit given out by Globe and Redbull also.

Other bands to play range from punk, rock to hip hop featuring Stylus, Fourth Member, The Rabble, Ubiquitous, Status & The Unsafe. First band is on at 12.30pm and Stylus will finish the show, ending just after 5pm.

These artists are bands who have played a bit on the shore over the past year. Stylus played Day At The Beach in February this year along with Rock Day Out (part of the North Shore Summer Music Series) also at Marlborough Park this year. Since then of course they've released their kick ass album 'Painkillers'. You may have seen one of Fourth Members shows at either the Masonic or some of the underage kids may have seen their guest appearance in the Shore Bands Competition in October. Ubiquitous first came in to the scene after they won the Shore Bands Competition in 2001, since have played heaps of all ages shows on the Shore as well as opening for bands such as Stylus and Redline. In March next year the band is opening for Blindspott also. Look out for their single on the radio in January. Status and the Unsafe were both regional finalists in the rockquest and both played in the Shore Bands Competition in October. They are two kick ass bands. DJ Logikal, a shore boy himself has played events such as the Hip Hop show in Onewa Domain in January this year with The Fast Crew and D2S. Another one of his shore shows was at Day At The Beach where King Kapisi did a number with him. The older punters will probably know him from is regular shows at Fu.

On the day, if you are unable to make it, there will be regular updates on the Edge (94.2FM in Auckland) where they will be going live. The Edge will also be giving away prizes on the day.

So if you managed to get to the bottom of this thread, come check it out next Saturday. This is one of the few events that happen on the Shore so don't miss out!

Forums: NZ Music,

you should get the checks haha

Nah we shouldn't.

yeah you're right. it would suck to have all the crap bands upstaged by some talented little kids.

Yea I've gotta agree, you'd get a good variation in music, and a huge crowd if they were playing, they have a huge fan base.

but you gotta make sure you put them on towards the end because everyone will leave after they play...if they play first :D

Exactly ;) Where did u see them play?

Crap bands eh? Well someone obviously doesn't think so or they wouldn't have got the gig.

Who in the forum is going? Be sure to catch LCAJMO undercover.
