The Office

Who watched the Office (channel one)? Who liked it?
I love/d it and have both series on DVD, the funniest things i've ever watched....(a slight exaggaration, i have watched things that are also incredibly funny) but this is....basically i like it a lot.
Btw, did anyone read the article in the herald about the missing script for the exclusive Xmas special that went to the wrong house?! - Some people have no morals or consideration!

If anybody watches/watched it, plz feel free to share memorable quotes, i have soooo many!
-"Not only do i have great people skills but i am trained in covert operations. You know that phrase 'softly softly catchy monkey'? I could catch a monkey. If i was starving i could. I'd make poison darts, out the poison of deadly frogs. One milligram of that could kill a monkey, or a man. Prick yourself with that and you'd be dead within a day...or longer. Different frogs, different times." (..thank u, Gareth Keenan)!

..and to leave you with (in the wonderful words of Tim: "it is better to be at the bottom of a ladder you want to climb than half way up one you don't" :)

Forums: The Bar,

I loved it!

Excalibur

"I froze your tears and made a dagger
And stabbed it in my cock
forever
It stays there like Excalibur
Are you my Arthur?
Say you are
Take this cool dark steeled blade
Steal it, sheath it
In your lake
I drown with you to be together
Must you breathe?
Cos I need Heaven."

Now... who has seen The League Of Gentleman? I would hazard to say it is better than the Office... well not better, maybe... but very different... and very funny...

"We didn't burn him."

...

The League of Gentlemen is definitely some inspired stuff but I don't find it as close to the bone as The Office.

I thought the first series was brilliant but the second was too forced with Davids relationship with Neil? other manager.

i loved that show. Some of my faveourite quotes are "You people who think you know everything are annoying to those of us who do" and i also like "Avoid hiring unlucky people: throw away half the CVs without looking at them" (I'm not sure i got those quotes exactly right, but it was something like that anyway)

I think the first series was incredibly funny, it seemed more about humour. I didn't watch them on tv, and it was my media studies teacher who got me into it during the second series, and i liked it so i rented the first series dvd and fell in love with it and then i went out and bought it! I found the second series dvd on trademe and got that too (quite reasonably i think, since it hasn't been released here yet!). When i recieved the dvd in the mail i watched it straight away, and the thing i noted about it was it was kinda sad.
I thought it had a sad tone throughout the series, like David Brent actually realises that no one really likes him :( but in saying that it was slightly sad, David's 'dance inferno' sequence in ep. 5 (during cominc relief) literally made me cry - it was the most embarrassing but crack-up thing i've seen! I've only just started being able to control the crying! :)

In my view it turned from the best comedy in the world (1st series) to the best dramatic comedy in the world (2nd series).

I can't stand to watch it with people who don't enjoy it. I tend to get really angry...

Yeah, my mum kinda started to get into it abit. She agreed it had its funny parts! My dad on the other hand can't stand it, he thinks its absolutely rubbish...i certainly don't get my sense of humour or tastes in comedy from him!

i almost cried after the last episode.

I think it just got released here (series 2 that is)...it was featured in my update from Sounds.

Anyone else love Tim? He's such a sweetie.. :P I wish i worked with guys like him.

haha..i think I've already started two threads regarding the office. It is indeed (was) the most brilliant thing on television.

love it. I am looking forward to the xmas special.

Opps, hehe sorry, i couldn't remember reading a thread b4 about the office! :P I considered it since i've only left it till now after it's well finished, but i didn't realise :P Oh well, something that great can't have too many threads! :)
