One of my photographer friends who is currently studying photography up at welly polytech was taking photos from Molly Malones today of the parade when the flash dropped off his camera and fell to the ground, pretty much derstroying it. Dissapointed, but continuing taking photos a stanger asked who he was taking photos for. He replied, myself, i'm just a student.
The man then replied. "Well, you're now taking photos for us. Fox USA."
My friend is now being driven around in a flash as BMW and being escourted to the party tonight where he will be introduced to all the stars and taking photos of them....he quickly swung by my studio to borrow one of my flashes and looked so excited he could barely talk.
i am very chuffed for him.

At the first Wrap party for LOTR, a guy I went to high school with but didn't know at all (because he was cool and I wasn't), met Ian McKellan. Alumni legend has it that a couple of days later he said to his parents "You know how you always thought I might be gay? Well I am and I'm moving to England with Gandalf tomorrow". He was last seen sitting next to him at the Oscars for FOTR, but I think they've broken up now. All those negative people who say NZers didn't get anything out of the movie are talking out of their asses.
